So I've got a splendid idea for converting a DP. the only problem is that it's out of a Forgefiend, so I'd have to use the large oval base the comes with it. The rulebook says whatever, but I would like to crowd-source an opinion.

It should be fine, the oval base is only a little bigger

I can see it now....Nids are now a collection of autonomous hive fleets there are multiple Hive Minds and they all war with one another in addition to everyone else. They speak to humans using telepathy, and they can now ally with Space Wolves as battle brothers, because reasons.
Tyranids talking to humans would be like you talking to your mashed potatoes or the probiotic in your kiefer drink. It is neither possible nor productive.
Inside my mind I pinched my nipples and savored his bitter silence.

Its fine. Larger bases Deamons generally hurt themselves.

8000 Dark Angels (No primaris)
10000 Lizardmen (Fantasy I miss you)
3000 High Elves
4000 Kel'shan Ta'u

It would be fine, as long as in the event that it does matter(auras, shooting, and the like) that you consider it the proper base size.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!

The way I usually play these sorts of things is by swapping the awesome looking model for a normal version for the purpose of checking line of sight, terrain, etc. That way you can have a big badass and not get penalized for it.
Just make sure you explain it to your opponent and be careful where you center the big mother hubbard.

As long as you don't equip him with the Black Mace it won't be considered 'modelling for advantage'.
