Hail brothers!
Well with the latest Chaos codex shattering my hopes and dreams of having a competitive World Eaters army... I decided to dig out my old Death Guard army (my favourite army to play with until my beloved daemons came along!). Continuing my obsession with vintage chaos models, this will be a mostly (but not exclusively) old school army
This is how Nurgle's finest looked in 2009:
And:
And this is how they look now:
Ok, ok... Not that impressive currently, but I'm excited to be (re)starting this army, especially with my improved painting skills
Look out for more updates in the near future!

Those old school nurgle chaos marines are some of the best csm models GW ever did in my opinion! Can't wait to see this develop!

Thank you brothers, I'm glad this has grabbed your interest!
As a bit of a tease in the meantime (as I haven't made much progress on my DG this week), here are some pics of my Nurgle daemons:

Oh and a couple of Nurgley objective markers:

Love the old figures and what you've done with them. The re-do should be quite an exciting process to watch unfold!

Not much of an update as such, but I've cobbled together a bunch more models for my Death Guard, and they're starting to take shape now. I've managed to round up a whole host of the beautiful old biomechanoid backpacks for every model in the army (except perhaps champions, who may have something more flamboyant, but not sure yet), so very pleased about that.
You can see my old school obliterators at the sides, those chaps at the back are renegade havocs (minus their weapons currently), and three PM squads in the middle (each one still missing a plasma gunner). Enjoy!

Hail once again brothers, I appreciate the interest so far! I promise that the pace of updates will quicken once I really get going on this army...
Having said that, I have a minor update for tonight... I've got the Plague Marine and Obliterator squads assembled and undercoated, and a little taster of what's to come:
Plague Marine Squad 1 (Meltas):
Plague Marine Squad 2 (Plasma):
Plague Marine Squad 3 (Plasma):
I used the awesome biomechanoid backpacks for all of my PMs, but as I needed to differentiate my champions from the rest of the dudes, I added a skull to their backpacks (all my champions are un-upgraded now thanks to the ridiculous challenge rules...)
Nurgle Obliterators 1:
Nurgle Obliterators 2:
Also as a treat, one lowly Nurgle Spawn (more to come):
And finally, my three rhinos as they look now (which is rubbish...):
Plenty of work to do on these guys... If any of you saw my reconditioned Khorne Rhinos, then you'll know what I have planned
I know there's still not much to go on, but please do let me know what you think brothers!

Not really an update as such tonight, but anyone familiar with Scrapheap Challenge will realise that this picture is dripping with potential...
Three Rhino hulls stripped to their bare bones and ready to be rebuilt at the whim of my unchained imagination! I'll be adding a bunch of plasticard armour and rivets, plus some other embellishments. I'll post pics as it all progresses, so watch this space

Another brief update for you brothers...
I've made a little Typhus conversion! I'm not sure whether he'll actually make it into the army list (he sure is a lot of points for a chump on foot...), but how could I have a Death Guard army without the chief architect of their rebirth??
Here's the big man himself:
I actually bought him super cheap off eBay a while ago, but he had no hands or scythe... So armed with my extensive bitz box, I cobbled together a suitably badass looking scythe for him. The hardest bit was finding two hands that matched up :S
Let me know what you think!

Hail brothers!
Another minor update (and no painting as yet...) this eve. I've assembled a new Chaos Lord to lead my army. I present to you some very dodgy shots of my namesake, the lord Vomikron Noxis:
As an aside, what do you chaps think of this guy as a Nurgle-esque spawn?
For the uninitiated, that's the Fenbeast from the Albion campaign many years ago.
Let me know what you think! I promise that a flurry of painting will follow in the coming months

Hail brothers!
Well I realise I said the next update would have some painted models... turns out that was a big fat lie
However... I have put together a rather cool (if I do say so myself ) Daemon Prince. Now this guy is to be used purely for when some lucky fellow rolls up "Dark Apotheosis", hence why he has bits of power armour and no wings. It did give me the chance to revamp one of the old DPs from my previous army though.
The vents are from the old metal DP, with a bunch of sculpting work to blend them all in, and the shoulder pads are the Forge World Death Guard Terminator ones.
There are a couple bits left to tidy up, but he's more or less finished. Let me know what you think!

I think the old Nurgle Oblits look better than the current Chaos Oblits.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Those are looking grand! I like the Typhus mini a lot and your Chaos Lord conversion is damn cool. I always liked that Chaos Terminator!
I'm really interested in this as Im planning a 2nd Ed Slaaneshi Cultist army for the redux version that my brother and I are working on. I will be keeping my eye on this and keep up the good work

Thanks for all the comments so far brothers!
Now I did kind of promise that the next upload would be some painted pics, and I suppose I didn't exactly lie because some of the following models have been basecoated... I wanted to show a complete shot of the army now that everything is assembled and undercoated:
I now have nothing more to assemble, so all uploads from this point will indeed be painted pics, promise

Hail brothers!
Well I'm delighted to say I've managed to put off real life for long enough to actually get some painting done... But don't get your hopes up too much because it isn't Death Guard :S
I picked up the Munitorum Objective Markers from GW, and while they are lovely little things, I thought they needed a little more attention... So I slapped some paint on them and based them up:
Let me know what you think!
