I've got some oop scouts and want to expand the squad without using the same models so I'd be using plastic ones although are there any noticable differences between them?
If anyone has both and could take a picture for comparison it'd be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yup. The old and new snipers are close. I'm not sure about the other kit, as I don't have it. Overall, you can mix them without too much trouble. I know I do.

Unless you are talking about the really old mohawk scouts, their look hasn't changed much.

The plastic sniper scouts have cloaks, the metals (generally) don't.
Otherwise, they're the same size and look.

I should probably have specified, I'm referring to scouts with bolt pistols and combat knives. My bad!

The posing of the old ones are more dramatic, but that can be remedied with the plastics with a bit of greenstuff.

Visually the old ones are leaner, whereas the new ones come across as marines just out of their armour. I would say that the new ones have some fugly faces though, and the detail in certain bits comes across as less crisp.

Sorry, the only plastics I have are snipers. However, looking at the pictures on GW's website, and the pic of the sprue at http://artgoblin.pl/sprues.php and comparing them to my old metal CC/shotgun/bolter scouts, I think they should work just fine. There might be slight differences, but whenever you are comparing multi pose plastics with old solid sculpts, there are going to be some.

To be honest, I didn't mean the "Can you tell?" literally. I was just trying to get the point across that once you slap paint on them, you can't really tell the difference at arm's length. There are way to tell, either the base or recognizing the sculpts. But for the most part, the new plastic snipers are 100% compatible with the old ones. I just happened to have this pic in my gallery, so when the OP asked, it was easy for me to post it up.

And as a note to myself, I need to work on my photography...
