Hey Dakka!

So I'm slouched on my sofa watching 'Comic Relief:Bake Off' and my mind is wandering... I'm going to start playing some 8th ed WHFB next week with my slightly adapted KoW Elf army, and I was curious not having the rule book to hand, are there any rules for allies? Or can I just stick a few Dwarf units with my Elves?

Just curious...

The only rules there are are for multi-player games, and all armies must be legal forces.

You can easily use them for 2+ armies run by one person, but thats not what GW intended. So it would have to be a special thing you and your opponent agree upon.

Ahhh, I was curious as to how that would work... Well, I'll have a chat with my prospective opponents and see how they feel about it. Cheers Grey Templar, very useful

I hope they do not have allies like they added them for 40K.

Armies by their design have inherant weaknesses and strengths. Completely removing their weaknesses makes for frustration of opponents all round.

Ahhh, but these would be purely added to round out the points so each of us have 2k. It's just a knockabout between mates really, but I thought I'd better check in case there were certain rules or restrictions. We want to have a laugh and not break the game!

1500+500 of allies should be no problem but remember that you will need to take the minimum of core so not have much left for what you probably really want from the second army list. If your oponent is a mate and is agreeable then there is no reason why you shouldnt freely choose from all the armies in the game but then you will probably end up playing a version of 4th ed "hero hammer".
