So the tourney I was prepping for got changed to a doubles tourney because of tons of people wanting in.

It was a 2k, but now it's 1250 each.

I'm not sure what my teammate is bringing, but I have played him (and watched a couple games of his). His usual lists include tons of troops in transports... so I'm avoiding transports and really going as more of a support role.

Here's what I'm thinking.

Chaos Sorcerer 95
Mark of Slaanesh
Chaos Bike
Mastery level 1

Chaos Cultists 50
Chaos Cultists 50

Chaos Bikers (8 models) 221
Mark of Slaanesh
Icon of Excess

Heldrake 170
Baleflamer
Heldrake 170
Baleflamer

Havocs (5 models) 155
4x Lascannons
Havocs (5 models) 155
4x Lascannons
Havocs (5 models) 155
4x Lascannons

My questions are these.

A: 12 S9AP2 shots? or 24 S7AP4? (I know at least 2 lists from the 12 players are going to be terminator heavy.) Read as: Autocannons on the havocs instead of lascannons?
B: Should I up my troop choices to something meaningful? My thoughts are bring the little guys to toss on backfield objective(s) and let my partners troops head mid-field under the cover fire of my havocs and drakes.
C: Too many points on bikers? or a good mid-field dominator/denial team?
D: HQ not strong enough? Just right? I've never run an HQ this cheap, but I don't normally play these small of lists. 1850 or 2k are my normal lists.

Feel free to chime in on even just one of those, I'm looking for any feedback I can get before Saturday morning. Thanks!

EDIT: noticed a counting error on the points, I have 30 pts to play with at this point.

Check your mate is bringing tons of troops.

The havocs could do with mixing in autocannons, maybe switch a single unit to autocannons, maybe toss in a few missile launchers to another unit so that it can do anti-infantry as well; that'll leave one unit tooled up for anti AV14. That'll give you a few points to tool up the bikes and/or sorcerer.

Are you allowed fortifications? if so I recommend the skyshield landing pad. 4++ for the havoks means they don't get vaporized turn 2 by baleflamers or mown down by tau markerlights or other ignores cover stuff. The pad is plenty big enough to fit all 15 on it.

I have a total of 4 lists ready (all slight modifications of this one) based on what my mate brings.

I can do that mix up on their weaponry, my thought was the the drakes would be enough anti-infantry, since everything they do is AP3.

On the Skyshield, we are allowed one fortification per team. Problem is neither of us have that kit. maybe an investment I need to make soon.

I think it's worth it. It's massive so you can put loads of guys on it and if you end up in an objectives match them you can have 10 cultists with MoT sitting on it with a 3++ vs shooting (lolz). And if you have demonic allies you can have it open at the start of the game to deep strike without scatter (then switch to shielded).

Never thought about that bit this much... looks like I will be picking one up. lol
