So this weekend, my local club is getting together to play a singles tournament with mixed skill levels. I am, for the sake of agrument, a beginner. Here is my list and was wondering what you guys think of it and possibly how I should play it for the different types of games within the 6th Ed rulebook. Thanks in advance for any and all advice! Happy Wargaming

The rule for the entry lists are 1750pt Army + 185pt Additional Character (HQ/Special/Unique)

Azreal, Supreme Grand Master of the Dark Angels - 215

HQ/Unique - Ezekiel, Grand Master of Librarians - 145

Troops
Tactical - 10 Man - 200
- Sergeant PP/PS
- PG and PC

Tactical - 10 - 200
- Sergeant PP/PM
- PG and PC

Deathwing Squad - 5 - 235
- Sergeant SB/PS
- LC/CF/HF

Death Wing Squad - 5 - 245
- Sergeant SB/PS
- TH/SS/CF/PC

Ravenwing Bike Squad - 6 - 206
- Sergeant BP/PM
- 2 PGs

Fast Attack
Ravenwing Black Knights - 6- 269
- Hunt Master BP/PS & MB

Nephilm Jetfighter - 1 - 180
- LC

That is exactly 1750pts! The plan is to run Azreal & Ezekiel in the first Deathwing Squad. This is to give Ezekiel and the termies a 4++, which is a great additional I think To follow that up....depending on what army I'm facing....I will bring the bikes up the side to Deep Strike the other Termies to cause chaos! Ofcourse, for the Green Wing, they will hopefully hold their ground and/or objectives. So what do you guys think??? Any suggestions

Not true, Azrael opens both Deathwing and Ravenwing squads as Troops.

Sorry you are correct. Still stuck on old ed DA codex rules.

And as far as the list goes its strong but lacking in the anti flyer or anti AV13-14. Maybe some devestators or some lascannons or ML and FLak in your tacticals.
Also personally ive found the Nephillium to be overcosted and underpowered but YMMV, might be worth replacing with something mentioned above or even its cheaper cousin (Dark Talon).

I see what your are saying Scrollax. Unfortantely, the rules state that it is what you see is what you get. With that said I do not have missle launchers and that is why I decided to go with the Nephilium to atleast have some AA

Ok do you have anymore anti armour available to use?
Or even a Mortis Dread (2x TL AutoCannon) as this can quite reliably take down a Av10-11 flyer.

Well the Jetfighter is armed with a twin linked LC. Besides that, this is really all I own :(

Basically you have two starter sets from Dark Vengance and a nephilim eh?

With what you have that is a decent army.

I would buy some transports for your Tac squads to round out the army. That is about it for first round efforts.

Well yeah basically lol. I also bought the black knights due to the look and rules of the unit. I think that they are some seriously good units to run with just about any army!

Do you have grenade launchers on your black knights? If so, I would consider running them as 2 3man squads. That way you can fire rad shells/stasis shells at separate targets. For example, the turn the DW arrive, use rad shells to reduce the toughness of two separate units, then use the stasis shells later before the DW go into assault.
