So, I've run into an issue with my orky army of doom. It's been a good long while since I've won a match against my brother and his Space Marines (It started around the release of the 6th edition).
I used to run just hordes of melee infantry backed by warbikes, which would usually mop his marines up pretty dang good. Now I've got a problem.
Since the 6th edition, I find myself losing a lot of orks before the swinging starts. I mean A LOT. Like, entire squads. The one's that do make it don't last very long in CC (He likes those plasma cannons of his... *shudder* )
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've heard people suggest to convert to a shoota army. I tried that. I killed a grand total of maybe five marines per turn from shooting. With four full sized shoota squads. His armor save / cover saves were just too much for me to punch through. All the while, he'd simply sit back and fire at me with missiles, bolters and plasma cannons, which would easily kill 20 or so orks per turn all together. I'm starting to seriously consider just not playing anymore if this is what my army's become. I REALLY need help here. What can I do? I don't seem to have any luck with shooting, but my assaulting isn't great either. HELP!

Your assault army looks like to many points in nobz to me and you need transports. Your dakka list could use some more transports or meganobz with truks would be good they would be good in both lists. I would consider more battlewagons if you have 3 squads of 20 boys also more lootas or split the ones you have into two groups of 5. If taking a warboss make your nobz troops. But I would trade your nobz in both units for manz missiles. Consider a dakkajet as well.

I've always been a fan of throwing in some walkers with my boys. If anything, a khan pack will take a little fire from your boys so they can get into krumpin' range, or, they'll get up close and try to play can opener.

Just my thoughts on it though. Personally tested, but with decent results.

Get those Battlewagons!

Run 3 battlewagons with shootaboyz. the "middle" wagon gets 17 shootaboyz with powerclaw Nob, Mek with KFF and powerclaw and a Mega armour warboss. This unit is much better than a Nob squad because you can take wounds with cheap orks and then hit with 3 powerclaws in return. Challenge? no problem, let your warboss refuse and still hit with two powerclaws. If the wagon explodes you can take these saves with your warboss 2+ until he got a wound and then use the "look out sir" for the remaining wounds.

If the enemy got first turn than you got a 5+ coversave with all your battlewagons and 50% chance that that save will be better because of nightfight. If the orks got first turn than you can go flat out 18 inch and assault with the waaagh in the second turn. At that point your battlewagons are empty and your orks fighting....so who cares about vendetta's outflanking after that!

Get two more battlewagons and 20+ loota's and your game will improve!

ive thought about meks with pklaws but i usually get a burna because meks will die to almost anything that faces them unless they attacked first, however i always overlook putting multiple characters in there to avoid that issue.
Not a bad list idea Shogun, ima try that.

Are able to post a list of what the Marine player runs. A Battle Wagon list can be a lot of fun. Just remeber the Deff Rollas they are what makes a Battle Wagon Awsome. Its not horrible to snap fire bous out of the top either.

You have nobz on foot...cut that crap out!

Put your nobz in battlewagons.

More lootas will do wonders.
