This is based around eliminating the key targets in an enemy force on turn 1, by the talons escorting the drop pods, and the sternguard porting up the board. Thought?

Stormtalons cannot escort deep striking units.

Locator Beacons are a waste of points. (They only activate the turn after they come on the board when on drop pods.)

Space Wolves Drop Pods cannot take Locator Beacons.

Telion cannot take Melta Bombs.

The Sternguard are better off in a pod. Gate of Infinity is only 24".

Might be worth thinking of scout bike locator then pod onto that turn 1

I am not a fan of vindicators firing danger close to your drop pods, too inaccurate

Vindicators are not that inaccurage.

1/3 chance to direct hit from the scatter die, 3/11 chance to direct hit from the pair of dice rolled, and then, depending on what you are shooting at, anywhere from 5/11 chance to 9/11 chance to still hit it with the Large Blast.

In almost a hundred games, I've only scattered onto my own models once. And that's with rhinos closing in and blasting at things.

As long as you stay 8" away from the enemy, it's very very improbable to hit yourself. Heck, even 5" away it's improbable that you are going to hit yourself.

Of course, the Vindicators should have plenty enough to shoot without having to shoot right beside your drop pods.

Last game my CML termi scattered a frag back onto himself.

Vindis frustrate me. One shot, weak sides. When the stars align yes they can do amazing things.

My stars must be wonky.
