Subject: Minecraft browser.....help

So my son was playing minecraft in a browser at his friends house and fell in love with it. We try it here and it just wont work. It keeps saying we need the newest java for it to work. So I install it, says the same thing. Reinstall it. says the same thing. Any ideas here?

Did you try downloading the .exe or the .jar? It might make no difference, but it's worth a shot.

Youre talking about for Java right? If so, Ill try that, but when I did a reinstall it says "you already have the latest version of java"

Sorry, the Minecraft.exe from Minecraft.net. It can be played in the browser, or in the separate client.

Tried that, keeps saying its not downloaded. Im trying to get the demo to work for him, but it seems like no matter what I try, it just wont work. Ive tried other browsers thinking it might be there, same problem, every browser says Im missing Java plugins, but when I update the damn thing, it says Im up to date. ITs driving me crazy

Uninstall java and reinstalling might work?
Mind to uninstall the whole java.
Otherwise you might just custom download java.

I know why! on a gamechap and bertie video they said about the in the upcoming update (1.4.7)(it was 1.4.6 at the time) they said about jeb announcing that they would no longer release minecraft for a certain version of java...so before you quote me here please tell us the specs of your computer.

if it still wont work there are 3 options( you can choose multiple answers)1:get a new computer
2:get minecraft pocket edition for ipad/ipod/iphone/android tablet/android phone
3:get minecraft Xbox 360 edition (why wont they release it for PS3!!!)
the second two are almost the full minecraft experience without having to update java..ect..ect and they are good fun as well.

Are you DLing the right version of Java for your Operating System? So you're getting the 32-bit DL of Java for a 32-bit OS etc.?

I think Im going to just buy it for him on the ol Xbox, that way I dont have to dick with it, and he will stay off my puter. My PC isnt a year old yet, and can easily handle the game, so I know its not that. I dunno, Ive completely uninstalled java and gave it a go again, with the same damn problem. $20 in microsoft money will make this annoyance just go away
