Hello,

straight into the deep end.. i want to have at least 2k of Greenwing, Deathwing and Ravenwing armies. I also want to put my stamp on this army, hopefully through conversions and - if i can pull it off - painting style.

so where to start? well i want to start with the Ravenwing first. But, i saw the finecast company master whilst buying some black knights the other day and i thought ' god, i really love that 90's style of painting and the look of the models' so i thought i'd try mix the old with the new.

to mix this

with this

pics to come when i figure out how to upload them!!

so here goes

the bits

sawn off and needing some hot water lovin

bored out helm

had to modify the original balthasar body to accommodate the new front half of the torso and shoulderpad for arm positioning

new front half of the captain torso, has that old 90's era gem in it, so i had to do it lol (also modified)

the two poses i'm thinking about;

1st is the solemn commander, overseeing the battle at hand. Hand has to be modified to hold the gun, might model a watcher in the dark to hold his helmet, but i don't want him looking too much like azrael.

and the 2nd is the company master looking for somewhere to hang his stuff

'got anywhere i can chuck this lot chief?'

I like your last pose. I'm building some DA myself if you want to have a look.

Pose 2! The first one also looks great, but it looks a bit much like sicarius. Also, with the tilted banner, the second pose looks better

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.

Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.

After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right.

I don't think you should use the helmet version at the end. You cut up a guy in a very similar pose to make a new mini. Last thing you want to do is just recreate him!

I think the 1st pose is quite cool. The helmet could be held by one of them hooded midgets (I apologize, I don't know their name) and whilst it might look like the special character, I think his initial pose is much stronger than the others. Resting his hand on the bolter is very cool!

haha yeah it is very bent, the banner actually isn't that bad, just some bad blu tacking on my part!

i yeah i do like the un-helmeted poses the best, might try making some new poses but with a different head.. if i can find one!. might have to start a poll lol cos i can't decide
