Hello everyone. New to the forums and thought I'd post my newly started Necrons to see what you think. I'm pretty flexable with suggeations, but I prefer to have no named characters and a Destroyer Lord leading. On that note...

Theristis Dynasty

HQ
Destroyer Lord with Warscythe, Sempiternal Weave
140 points

ELITES
Triarch Stalker with Twin Linked Heavy Gauss Cannon
165 points

TROOPS
10x Gauss Immortals
10x Gauss Immortals
340 points

FAST ATTACK
2x Canoptek Wraiths w. Whip Coils
6x Canoptek Scarab Swarm Bases
180 points

HEAVY SUPPORT
Doomsday Ark
175 points

I'm saving my flyer, monolith anf c'tan for higher points. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Might want to take some tesla immortals for anti infantry, and why are you taking a destroyer lord instead of an Overlord?

I prefer the overall speed and toughness the Destroyer Lord brings to the table. Currently I am using him to stall my opppnents General by tying them up in a challenge as quickly as possible, using my Wraiths as backup for the ensuing CC with any entourage their General may have.

Also, since I have the scarabs, stalker and doomsday ark for AT, wasn't sure if I should half and half my immortals with tesla or go full tesla

Well, I'd drop the Scarabs and add some more Wraiths. Drop the whip coils since weapons that hurts Wraiths in cc generally have initiative 1.
I'd drop the Doomsday Ark and mount the Immortals into Night Scythes. This would largely increase your tactical options.

I would do this:
Drop the Elite.
Get more Warriors.
Give the Immortals Tesla-guns.
Get more Wraiths, at least one and give them the Dlord.

As an owner of 2 triarch stalkers, they're not too hot. 165 points is a lot you could spend on annihiliation barges and MSS for your destroyer lord.

Your DD Ark is going to get blown up early. I promise you that. Again, you can get 2 for 1 on anni barges for that DD Ark. Heck, you mentioned you own a flyer... at 1k points a lot of people don't have an answer for it. Maybe swap the DD for the death ray.

Heavy Gauss Stalkers and Doomsday Arks, while normally a good combination, are really not a good idea in low point games (anything less than 1750 would be pushing it).
Should replace them both with a couple of Annihilation Barges.

If you're going to be taking a Destroyer Lord to tie people up in challenges, you'd be mad not to give him Mindshackle Scarabs.
(also, do yourself a favor and add three or four more Wraiths as well, minimum three with Whip Coils).

More troops would be a good idea as well.
It's too bad you can't add any Crypteks. One or two of them could do wonders for this list.

After all your suggestions, the revised list is...

HQ
Destroyer Lord w. Warscythe, Sempiternal Weave and Mindshackle Scarabs
160 points

TROOPS
10x Tesla Immortals in Night Scythe
10x Tesla Immortals in Night Scythe
540 points

FAST ATTACK
3x Canoptek Wraiths w. 2x Whip Coils
125 points

HEAVY SUPPORT
Doom Scythe
175 points

1000 Points

With the Doom Scythe being my primary AT unit, I am unsure whether to drop it for a pair of Annihilation Barges or keep it

Should be fine at this points level. At most you'll run into a handful of AV13/14, which your death ray and warscythe can handle.

Keep the wraiths and lord out of line of sight for turn 1 and you'll do fine.

3 fliers at a 1000 pts is a bit excessive and not really necessary. Stalkers can be good but it's better to take them in a pair because one's just an easy target. As it stands first turn the only thing you have on the board is 3 wraiths and your Dlord, which would be quite easy for your opponent to take out.

So would you suggest taking out the Night Scythes and putting in a pair of Annihilation Barges? I'd keep the firepower of the Scythes, have more of my army on the board turn one and have enough points to give the last Wraith Whip Coils...

I dunno, I ran 2 stalkers with 2 groups of tesla immortals. Twin-linked tesla is good (second chance on misses to get 6s), 2 shot MM on an av13 chassis that twin links anything that fires on the same target, or you just flamer so you auto-hit and cause it's targeting array to go off, not too bad. If you like the model and the way that combo works, I'd stick with it, otherwise keep it out.

I agree with 3 fliers being a little overkill. The one doomscythe is really all you need, fill out your ranks with some warriors in a ghost ark (or a night scythe if you really want some) to go out and cap last minute objectives.

Maybe take out ONE Nightscythe, thus giving you a unit of Immortals and an Annihilation Barge on the board with your Wraiths+DLord.

You could take 2 units of 5 immortals and stick them in the night scythes and drop the doom scyth to take annilhation barges. This allows you to have 10 immortals, 2 annilhation barges, Dlord and wraiths to deploy.

If you're having a tough time finding the extra 5 pts needed for the set up you could change the 2 groups of 5 immortals to warriors. With the extra 35 points you could get another wraith.
