Hey guys, so i've been looking at start an eldar army now for a long time it was possibly one of the first armies i ever looked at but the i seen necrons and who doesn't love a space zombie robot that just won't stay dead? then i looked at starting my 2nd army again i briefly looked at eldar before deciding on space wolves i LOVE vikings so it was a no brainer again. However now I am going to start an eldar army so i thought why not ask dakka about this?
so here is my question to all you dakka nuts, what is the best way to build a fast durable eldar army I'll be aiming around 1850 points.
You'll want a farseer or two for sure. It is my opinion that having a farseer with RoW is mandatory with Eldar these days.
I'd get a squad of rangers/pathfinders for some good backfield objective campers, and some jetbike guardians to go take forward objectives later in the game.
A wave serpent with a unit of 5 or 6 fire dragons is a good investment. It's never steered me wrong.
It's expensive, but a 10 strong unit of wraithguard with a conceal warlock make for one of the toughest scoring units in the game.
War walkers can put out a staggering amount of firepower for fairly cheap, but I wouldn't discount the use of a pair of fire prisms. The linked beams can make entire marine squads disapear.
Lastly, I always try and run a unit of 10 harlequins with a shadowseer and maxed out kisses. it can tear most units a new one in close combat, and with a fourtune seer has a decent chance of not even losing many guys from the return attacks.
