Just wanting to start a good army and Gondor is the only faction I know nothing about I didn’t know if anyone had a good army list or any suggestions which will help me build a strong army list.

What I mean about good and strong is that they are good in the way that they act as a force and strong meaning they can take hits but hand out even bigger hits which cause the enemy alot of issues.

Ol' Blighty

rough army:
Boromir, captain of the white tower w/ horse, banner of Minas Tirith - 235
6 Knights of Minas Tirith w/ 6 shields - 84

Cirion, lieutenant of Amon Barad - 55
12 men of Minas Tirith w/ 12 shields, 6 spears - 102

Beregond - 25
12 Citadel guard w/ longbows - 120

Faramir, captain of Gondor w/ shield, heavy armour - 80
12 men of minas tirith w/ 4 shields, 2 spears, 8 bows - 98

total- 799

reasons:
Knights are for fast-moving, hard hitting units which can break through infantry and quickly take objectives.
Boromir is to lead the army and take on enemy monsters/heroes.
24 men of minas tirith to add some numbers to the force
Faramir because a F5, C5, D7 captain for 30 points seems worth it (plus he's an awesome character)
Beregond because a captain for one less might, wounds and attacks for better defence and shooting power for half the price is a good deal
Citadel guard because they're basically minas tirith bowmen, but spending two points on S3 bows, F4 and the bodyguard rule.
Cirion because though I would go with a regular captain, he's exactly the same for 5 more points but with an extra point of might and doesn't care about charging ringwraiths or trolls.

JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.
corpsesarefun: Thank god I missed be nice to shrike day.
greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid.

^- This looks like a very decent list. Cirion is a boss.

Yeah thats what shrike told me but I just need to get the source books as I have a Rivendell army list but I dont know which one to go with.

Will this be your first army? In this case go with Gondor since they are easier to play. Rivendell is more specialised.

Out of curiosity, what's your Rivendell list?

This will be my first proper good army as I have 1200pt of Isengard but I play with shrike most of the time and he is gonna start a mordor army so I need a army that would be a challenge. I havent got my list with me at the moment but Ill post it when Ive got it. I can remember the first warband which is lead by Elrond and Gil glad with 12 High elf warriors. Its hard at the moment as I dont have the source book.

That's OK, don't worry.

Against Mordor, you may want more men on the ground, so go with the Gondor list. Plus, it's "fluffy" to have Gondor against Mordor!

What army do you play with?

I have several:
Easterlings
Khand
Harad
Mordor (most recent and, actually, the most fun for me)
Arnor

I regularly play against Isengard, Gondor, Dwarves and Harad.

At the moment I have an Isengard and dwarfs army with the dwarfs being 3 warbands of ironguard and a small hobbit army, but both are not very good forces when it comes to a game as they lack other skills such as bowmen and heavy armoured warriors.

Just a hint, my planned army isn't the usual orc spam, so more feet on the ground may not apply.
It consists of:
15 black guard of barad-dur
15 morannon orcs w/ spears and shields
the shadow lord
the witch king w/ horse, a bunch of F/W/M, a morgul crown and a morgul blade
troll chieftain
troll w/ war drum
taskmaster

also, the army list I suggested was something like:
Elrond
12 men w/ 6 spears, 6 swords, 12 shields

Gil-galad w/ shield
12 men w/ 6 spears, 6 swords, 12 shields

Captain w/ bow and shield
12 men w/ elf bows

Also, your uruks are fine, you just had ridiculously bad luck last game- you had trolls for heavy hitters, wargs for mobility, crossbows for ranged and regular uruks for slogging it out.

The Hobbits are fun to use when we make up game modes such as the ultimate hobbit where a hobbit team of two go up against other hobbits to kill the troll first.
