Ravenwing Darkshroud - 80

The original implementation of this list featured two Darkshrouds and 2 Black Knight squadrons before I realized that was illegal, and I figured the Black Knights were more generally useful than the second Darkshroud. Anyway, with this list you've got 45 Bikes - 24 of which carry Salvo 2/4 TL-boltguns, 12 that carry TL-plasma, plus 4 Multi-Meltas and Sammael's plasma cannon. You've also got 3 of the multi-purpose Ravenwing Grenade Launchers to help bring a bit of versatility to the list. It's spammy, yes, and it's got some hard counters (notably anything that ignores cover saves), but I feel it can be a strong list. Your TL-plasma serve as your AA, and your multi-meltas are your obvious AT. You also have quite a lot of dakka.

Any thoughts? While I personally feel this is pretty strong, I don't have much experience playing Marines or bikes.

True, but then I actually have to find points for the Darkshroud. In the original list, I didn't have the Librarian, and that's where the 80 points for the Darkshroud went.

Isn't the Ravenwing Command Squad an HQ choice? If it is, it's your second HQ, and you'll have 2 HQs and 4 Troops, unlocking the second FOC. Then you can swap the Librarian, your third HQ, for a Darkshroud.

Are you sure you got 45 bikes? I counted 35 and death shroud.

From my count, he has 46 bikes,

Command Squad does not use up FOS...

Command Squad is only 3 bikers...weakest part about the biker command squad! Add Sammual, Libby, and finally the actual squad then that makes it a five man
Personally, this is the type of army that I want in the future...unfortantely, what I have right now myself is only 12 bikers :(

If your counting the SGT in the RW attack squadron as a sixed model then your math is off again. In which case then you have 45.

1 (Sammael) + 1 (Libby) + 3 (Command Squad) = 5 bikes

6 + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24 (Ravenwing Attack Squadrons)

1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 4 (Attack Bikes)

6 + 6 = 12 (Ravenwing Black Knights)

5 + 24 + 4 + 12 = 45. Right? Is there something I'm missing here?

45 looks right to me. What are going to do about Flyers? You might want to save room for 5 man dev squad with 4 ML and skyfire. Depends on the type of armys your playing against. other than that I think the army is a good looking bike army. You are running sam on his bike I see. I run him with the speeder b/c it chews through infantry and gives armys trouble. With how fast you will be moving this will be fun to play. good luck.

The Ravenwing Knights are probably my best bet against fliers. They'll get 5-10 TL-Plasma shots, which has a decent chance of getting through AV 11-12 fliers. Enough to force an Evade, anyway. Flakk ML's just seem expensive when my plasma is the same strength with better AP (albeit no skyfire).

Heck, with the speed and sheer number of bikes, you can even count the S4 salvo 4 bolters as AA. Most flyers are AV 10 on the rear.
