I was under the impression that Clinton cracked down on these guys after the Waco fiasco, or was that just a show for the press?

Clinton's attorney general at the time, Janet Reno, had a large part of the blame also, but managed to slime her way out of it.

Along with Waco and Fast and Furious, Ruby Ridge stands out as one of the all time greats:

Other than the obvious framing of Weaver after RR and Waco most of the Blake was righteously placed on Lon Horiuchi and FBI HRT. Not that they actually did anything. Good old wife killer Horiuchi retired from the FBI a couple years back.

Did you read about how the ATF contemplated a memorial statue at Waco depicting an agent walking with a child on each side holding his hands? It seems I saw something about that years ago, but just can't remember where. I would normally say it was a ridiculous story, but it's the ATF we're talking about.

Pretty sure the locals would destroy any such statue on that one.

I still can't believe Horiuchi didn't get time in the slammer, but thank god we have FBI's HRT to protect us from unarmed mothers with an infant in their arms.

The ATF's put a lot of good people in the federal slammer on trumped up or false charges, I remember one case at a gun show where they put a dealer (licensed, legal dealer mind you) away for conspiracy to violate federal firearms laws saying that a box of random garbage, washers, rubber bands, string, etc were "full auto conversion parts".

Hell, the BATF even admits they're incompetent:

(Footage from "The Gang" by the JPFO)

I watched some of the hearings about Ruby Ridge shortly after it happened. The witnesses against the ATF made the committe look like fools.
