I decided to make a colossus for my IG army. I wanted the howitzer to be more 'RL scale' than the hugely overscale dustbin guns a lot of the IG vehicles have. (Leman Russ, I'm looking at you!)
This one has a 1/35 scale large howitzer barrel, parts from an old incomplete 21cm artillery gun kit, various bitsbox thingys and is based on the resin puppetwars tractor base. I'll be using a few more of these I think, they are made really well and look the business.

I need to finish some kind of breech door for the main gun, but I'm unsure how to model it right now.

Close-up of breech area and loading arm (modified sentinel leg sat on cut down hunter-killer housing)

The front dozer blade is a spare bit from a ramshackle games tank. The heavy bolter will probably be mounted where the templar logo is. (somehow!)

There's still a lot to do before it gets painted but I'm putting it here for some feedback. Do you think I should put railings around the rear loading area bit and maybe make some steps for it?
Also do you think I should fill in one of the large hatches on one side and mount exhausts on there, I'm really not sure?

Thanks for looking!

Looks P. cool. For the gun's breech you could make it out of plasticard, and I would definitely add some exhaust pipes on the side, since it currently looks like it runs on electricity.

Yeah looks good, i've been interested in that Puppetswar chassis and you've just given me an idea as to the scale of it, so ta!

As to your colossus i say keep the side hatches, the driver needs a way to get in and out after all.

I have one of those Ramshackle Games hedge flatteners, but maybe it would look good at the rear of the vehicle as some sort of recoil brace?

Anyway, great concept, looking forward to seeing it finished
