So, as I said in my introduction post, even though I've been into orks for quite a bit I haven't still managed to playing them effectively. I used to play a kan wall list, but with ork walkers being nerfed so bad I felt I had to change. I have a 1500 pts list in mind, but I would appreciate a lot some advice, because I find myself losing too often. Here it is:

- Big Mek (warlord): Shokk, cybork body, bosspole
- 20 Gretchin
- Aegis with Quad
- 12 Lootas
- 3 big gunz (kannon)
- 1 Dakkajet: fighta ace and extra gun
- 5 kopters with tl rokkit
- 19 stormboyz with Zagstruk
- 20 boyz with Nob (armour, bosspole and big choppa). Not sure about big choppa, but I've heard some issue about pk not being so viable as before.
- 20 boyz with Nob (armour, bosspole and big choppa)

Thanks in advance!

Don't dismiss the PK on the Nob so easily
Hide him well in the unit and get into combat can deal some damage and swing the combat back in your favour.

I'm a particular fan of foot slogging with 20 boys and a PK Nob.

Never bother with a boss pole but I can see it's merits I just can't squeeze them in. Shame as on a few occasions would have been rather handy!

Personally think the stormboyz are overpriced now, especially with overwatch can go down too easily. But with zagstruk it's always something worth trying (one of the few units that can now assault from deep strike?) But I rarely bother.

Gretchin I assume to man the Quad? Drop 1 so you only need one Runt Herder - lose your runt herder the rest of the units not far off going anyway.

My only issue with this list is it seems to be going shooty - but what are you going to do with the Ork boyz? They can't duck behind the aegis because of fearless, and running forward they'll get shot to bits for fun. Before rounding on the rest.

Here's my list I've used in a recent tournament anyway and performing very well for me as a comparison.

Warboss on Warbike Kitted out
Nob Warbikers (who now count as Troops)
With a painboy, and cybork. Now they can absorb a crazy amount of shots.

3 Units of 20 Shoota Boyz, 2 with Nobs and PK, the 3rd to either sit back and objective defend or follow the bikes to objective capture.

2 x 6 Lootas

2 x Dakka jet with extra dakka

18 Gretchin

Aegis & Quad Gun

Warboss with PK to munch through armor.
Nob in unit also has PK, allows me the option to split Boss from Nobs to go tank hunting if need be.

Lootas and quad gun can happily sit back and munch through light armor.

launch everything else foward....unless it makes sense for the enemy to come to you.

Thanks for your advice and for your time Gerinako! I think I will not use the stormboyz. I will try your list as it seems solid to me! The main problem is that, as I said, I have already a 1500 kan wall army and I'm pretty upset that it might not be playable nowadays. I don't know people's point of view about that. I will ask in the tactics section.

Have you tried the kan wall in a couple of games? Sure it is not the ideal build but that does not mean that your meta is ready for it. The supprise factor could very well lead to some wins with a few tweaks of course.

PKs are still viable, you just cant blindly expect them to work. You need to either get 2 groups of boyz on a target so only 1 gets challenged out, or know how to manipulate charge distances so he cant get close enough at the start of a fight to be challenged but still pile in to attack.

The only way i dont take PKs is if im doing a loota-camping line and i just want the boyz to be a meatshield while the 3x 15 lootas do the meatgrinding. Only AV14 survives against that much dakka, and i usually have a MANz missile lurking in that anyway.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
