Hi this is my trial blood angels list
HQ-
-Astroth the Grim

Elite-
-3 priests with jump packs
-10 stern guard with combi meltas edit: in a drop pod (points already included in)

troops-
-assault squad (10)- Combat shield, Power fist, 2 melta-guns
-assault squad (10)- Combat shield, Power fist, 2 melta-guns
-Tactical squad (10)- Flammer, Missile launcher, Combi flamer

Fast attack-
- Vanguard veterans- Storm shield and glaive on sergeant, all jump packs, 4 power weapons, 3 melta bombs

Heavy support-
-Storm raven- M-M, assault cannon

Fortification-
Aeigies defence line with quad gun.

The plan is to have the grim and 2 assault squads go up the board hiding in terrain. the tactical squad splits flamer in terrain, and combi flamer with missile launcher behind defence line. storm raven gives a bit of anti- tank and air, stern guard land to hit any heavy units or things that are shooting up my guys, Veteran assaults squad tie up any other shooting aspects, 1 priest deep strikes to give fnp and add another target in my opponents deployment zone. Tell me if this would work at all. ( PS I am keeping the vanguard veterans no matter what; I just like them.)

I think there is some decent ideas for a fun list in here.

A couple of things stand out to me, though.

First, are the sternguard foot-slogging? Because if they're not in a drop pod the combi-meltas are a bit of a waste. Also 10 combi-meltas is a bit of a waste on it's own. Maybe some combi-plasma? Sounds like you meant to put them in a pod, so that should work well.

Second, 3 priests is probably too many. Trying to DS a single priest to give FNP/FC to the vanguard vets is probably a bad idea - maybe he's close enough to give it to them one assault phase, but then he's toast. You could use the extra points to give them power weapons - WS5 and 4 attacks on the charge is pretty awesome.

Third - IMO combat shields on the sergeants are garbage. If you need to drop 5 points, go with melta bombs. I will say that storm shields can be pretty awesome (and you could use the assault squad shield as a counts-as storm shield), especially if Astorath can LoS onto the 3+ Inv save sergeant (though you don't want to get that fist killed, either).

I think the VV will work pretty well here, but giving them all power weapons is probably a waste. You want them tying up squads of long fangs or other shooty units - not ripping through them in one charge and then getting left out to dry on the opponents turn.

Astorath is also a little strange here (especially with no DC in the list at all), but he's a sweet model so I won't argue with it. Also a 2+ save with FNP leading the assault squad charge will soak up a lot of damage, which will keep more of squad alive to get into assault.

It always amazes me how fast the BA codex can chew up 2K points.

The previous poster is correct in his suggestions.

I agree that lossing a priest is is good and switching out the combat shield with melta bombs is a good idea, but what should i use the 75 leftover points on? and grim is to give the red thirst more easily to the other units as well as to be a beast with a jump pack.
