I saw this mentioned in The Metro yesterday and while £69.99 seemed a bit pricey, £49.99 at Toys'R'Us brings it into the price range of GW kits.

The review seemed to say that the robot would walk around by itself, looking for enemy robots to attack. I thought that was an interesting idea for the busy modern child, who doesn't have enough time to play with toys because he is busy playing videogames. However I may have misunderstood that bit.

The toy might be incorporated into SF games by blinging it up with bitz and a new paint job. It could even be used in an SF version of "Little Wars". The shooting discs ought to be all right for firing at model soldiers as they are soft.

Does anyone have one? It would be good to hear a practical view on the machine.

But far far cheaper. Wonder what the dimensions are.'

Edit: Looked it up, the chapterhouse model sits 11.8" high, where as the attacknid sits only 10" high, close enough with the extra bulk imo.

To me, it looks rather Necron. Triarch stalker, maybe? Make sure the discs are out so it can't actually fire, paint it up, and in your movement phase, just say it can move X inches, and then control it to do so!

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Yes, certainly for 40K, yet the "spider tank" look predates Necrons having been used in Thunderbirds.

Was exactly my thought. Now I know where to look if I ever want a Tau walker.

Here we are...

Currently only £40 at Model Zone. I probably shouldn't but I think I might buy one.

Cue discussion about the comparative price of GW models.
