BSS w/ 2 meltaguns, meltabombs

Tau

+Devilfish
Tau firewarriors x10
+Devilfish
Pirhana
Warloard Trait: Conquerer of cities

Terrain:
There was a sort of gridded 2x3 column of spaced terrain pieces. The middle two were ruins, the ends were hills/rocks/craters.

Tau won first delpoyment/Turn

Deployment Tau:
Each squad in devilfish hid in each corner of the board behind terrain. Did not move for most of game. Commander sits behind a rock in the middle of his deployment.
Deployment Zealots:
Inside the end terrain pieces of my side (hills) were one squad each of BSS with right squad accompanied by retributors. Celesting stands defiant in middle of my deployment zone at the front.

Zealots steal the initiative

SOB TURN 1: (Faith= sufficient throughout game)
Right squad moves up right along the rear of the first ruin. Squad left moves to claim the left ruin. Rets move out of cover into the night and set up for a volley against the right devilfish.
In the chill of night, the rets open up with a hail of accurate snapshots, all fail to scratch the sleek grav vehicles.

TAU TURN 1:
Commander hops out and shoots at celestine and wiffs, hops back into cover

SOB TURN 2:
Right Squad moves into right ruin. Left Squad moves around left ruin. Nothing really happens as the rets wiff again. Despite having rending they still failed to roll 6s to pen anyways. Celestine moves into assault range of commander and charges, dealing one wound. Tied in combat.

TAU TURN 2:
Celestine beheads commander. Devilfish have moved up a little bit and kills one Zealot-Sister on the left and 2 on the right. Flier comes in and does nothing.

SOB TURN 3:
BSS move in on both sides, shoot and explode transports. Charge the units inside causing the ones on the lefthand side to flee and the ones on the right to get sweeped, lose 2 sisters on the right and one on the left in the process.. Celestine ha failed to assault left hand. Rets wiff at flier.

TAU TURN 3:
Flier moves off of map and the left hand firewarriors are 6" inches from leaving game. Forfeits the match.

Zealots(SOB) win with 5 kill points to nothing.

Afterthoughts:
Basically, Tau shooting was garbage the whole game only killing a total of 5 sisters throughout the whole game. I marched through his shots to choke him to death with my bare hands. Rets were garbage too this game, but does not mean I am giving up on them. I will give them a few more tries, if they fail more then I take pentinent engines.

Sorry if this is the most boring battle report in the world, but it took about an hour and 20 minutes to finish.

EDIT: I do not mean that it took an hour and 20 minutes to write this report, but that it took that time to finsih the battle itself. Sorry for confusion.

What was the flier you talk about for the Tau?

The tau don't have a flier in their army book. I take it the pirhana was being used as a flier which is incorrect unless he was proxying it for a forgeworld model like a barracuda or something. It sounds like the tau player is new to the game (or to tau) with how he played the devilfish and kept his fire base inside of them for the whole game without moving them. You only saw a fraction of his firepower since 20 str5 shots stayed locked up in their transports the whole game. Consequently I don't think you got a good feel for his army so if he was fun enough to play against I'd give him a rematch.

Despite the one-sided nature of the battle your report was fine and enjoyable to read. Keep' em coming.
