Looking great. I like the dimmed down colors. That really makes him form as 1 with the base. I'm actually working on the exact same miniature, although i'm no where near finishing him up  Keep up the work. PS. Really digging the little details on the base.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. That is a bloody awesome model, both in terms of FW's scupt, and what you've done with it.
I rather like the green outer layer of the coat; a Commissar who's taking a little more consideration into blending in than most is a solid idea.

Thank you all, this is actually the only DKOK figure I have, just using him as the commander of my current guard army.
The green just matches the rest of the army, real pleasure to paint like most FW stuff

If you plan to buy anything from FW, i suggest you first checkout ebay, thats besides ridiculous shippings costs and more stupid prices, ebay is the way to go, got my 2 commissars from someone in spain, 2 squads and like 5 death riders + light assault thingie all from ebay (for probably half the price ).

Great looking model. I'm thinking about getting a couple of the DKoK Commissars to go with my Steel Legion troopers due to the gas masks. How fiddly/tough to assemble was the sword/scabbard?
The green on the coat's a bit odd to me, but that's definitely a personal choice. It's well executed, though.
