Hey guys, back again haha. I've been playing Chaos since their new codex, however haven't been able to use a lot of the stuff or proxy a list greater than 1000 due to limits like money and spare models. I've started using Huron Blackheart, and I love him so I've made a list around him. I'm writing this mostly for friendlies, so not looking to be tournament winning, but still able to stand its own. Here's what I have in mind so far:
HQ
Huron Blackheart: 160 points
Kharn the Betrayer: 160 points
Troops
10 Khorne Berzerkers: 2 Chainaxes, Melta bombs: 211 points
10 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Plasma guns, power maul, melta bombs, veterans of the long war: 205 points
10 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Melta guns, power maul melta bombs, veterans of the long war: 195 points
Elites
5 Terminators: 4 Powerfists heavy flamer, Champion w/ a pair of Lightning claws, : 227
Fast Attack
Heldrake: Baleflamer: 170 points
Heldrake: Baleflamer: 170 points
Total points: 1498
I think it's looking a bit small model wise for a 1500 points army, but like the idea of Kharn being ever closer with Berserkers, all c&c welcome, thanks

I'd say either get in some transports, or go boys over toys and try to get lots more bodies on the ground. Depends on what you prefer tbh.

I was contemplating taking out the Terminators for another veteran of the long war plasma squad, however I don't know what to do with the 24 points it frees up...

I don't know which kind of meta there is in your local game, but with that amount of bodies walking over no man's land would be wiped out in two possible three turns tops. I agree that get either transports (even land raider if you feel that berzerkers are awesome, at least I do) or put up tons of more bodies. Terminator squad should get some combi-weapons if possible. They are quite cheap and can help you game a lot! Also grow the squad size if they are walking and put something combi-melta or other goodies if deepstriking 'cause they seem to be a bit naked without role at the moment. I plainly love your HQ choises, but they are 1/5 of your army and not particulary fat to take down so it's huge point junk if you ask from me.
What I recommen is dropping the dropping the kharn actuly and giving each troop squad 4-6 more members. Use huron warlord to deploy them as far as enemy as possible and make this close and personal quickly as possible. Dropping VotLW will access you for CC weapons which would greatly boost your flexibility.
at that form your arm doesn't however contain any long range heavy guns.. but I guess you don't need them as you didn't include any in your list. Predator / Havocs are cheap way to add some high strength weapons to your line.
if you can dig up the points, 10 cultist squad could also sneak objectives from reserves if needed.
Hope I gave you some ideas for your future gaming.

I rarely play at my local, only really playing amongst friends. The main armies I come up against are Imperial Guard, Space Wolves/Blood Angels, Tau, Dark Eldar and Necrons. I like close combat, being an Ork player originally, which is why I was drawn to infiltrating, especially infiltrating someone like Huron or Kharne. The Terminators have combi-bolters as standard, however I may take them out to add either another unit of 10, or to bolster the existing squad numbers. I've included Veterans of the Long War due to the fact 9/10 my Marines tend to flee more often than my Cultists do in smaller games (logic no happen), plus if I was to go into GW or somewhere, I think roughlyt half the codexes are SM, so makes sense haha. I didn't think long range would be needed as I'd be starting so close, and closing the gap quickly. Either way, I think I'll rejig the list to be more survivable, taking out possibly Kharnem the Berserkers and the Terminators (or any combination) to add more bodies. I'm also trying to avoid running that many vehicles due to transporting them everywhere haha.

After some toying around, I've come up with this. Hopefully it seems better, here goes;
HQ
Huron Blackheart-160
Troops
15 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Plasma guns, power maul, melta bombs, veterans of the long war: 285 points
15 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Plasma guns, power maul, melta bombs, veterans of the long war: 285 points
15 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Melta guns, power maul melta bombs: 250 points
10 Chaos Space Marines: 2 Melta guns, power maul: 180 points
Fast Attack
Heldrake: Baleflamer: 170 points
Heldrake: Baleflamer: 170 points
Total: 1500 points.
Idea is stick Huron in a squad of plasma Marines, have them be the guaranteed infiltrate unit to get some early advantage, hopefully taking out some armour. The small squad of Melta Marines will stay in the deployment zone along with either the other Melta squad or the other Plasma squad (unless I get a 5-6 for my Master of Deception roll... Infiltrate everything!) . Ideally I should have enough models to survive till turn 2 minimum, if so then I should be able to get at least one Heldrake on Turn 2 if probability goes my way, failing that I should have ideally Hurons unit in combat, so they'd be surviving another turn (ram them into something to keep them busy for a turn to keep them from being shot at again, but something they should be able to deal with). I know I've written in an ideal world, but in practice it should be able to hold up, as long as I'm smart about it.

You have no long range firepower and no anti-flyer. Massed ap3 or lower from afar will eat you up. And leaving the melta unit in the dz is bad move;they wont be able to contribute anything to the battle, and will be shot off the objective whilst they wont be able to return fire.

After having used Nurgle Chaos Bikers in games a few times, I've come to love them. Also, I've decided to ditch Kharne and his Berserkers for good (at least in this list). This is my current idea for the list (been a hile since I posted about this, sorry about that haha, needed to seriously rethink it all though). Here goes:
HQ
Huron Blakheart-160
Chaos Lord-Sigil of Corruption, Chaos Bike, The Black Mace-155
Troops
13 Marines-2 plasma guns, power maul-224
13 Marines-2 meltaguns, power maul-214
10 Marines-2 plasma guns-170
Fast Attack
Heldrake-Baleflamer-170
Heldrake-Baleflamer-170
7 Chaos Bikers-2 plasma guns (in exchange for CCW), power maul, Mark of Nurgle-237
I know I still have no real long-range anti-tank, however I've tried to counter that by trying to be as fast as I can with what I want. Not sure if the Black Mace will be worth it, may end up switching it for equipment with the total amount of points (being Mark of Nurgle, and a power maul on the Lord and the Champion in the 10 man Marine squad). All comments and criticism are welcome as always.
