So I am in the middle of building my FW Grey Knight Dreadnought and had a cencept idea for a base but I amm not sure what to make of it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is glued yet.
I am also hoping for suggestions on colours for the Rhino door as a Chaos part. I was thinking of painting it Black Legion style, as my Chaos army will be a mix of Crimson Slaughter with Black Legion Vehicles.

It's definitely an interesting idea but at the moment it looks like you just put a statue on its side on the base, as opposed to it having fallen over. You could try cutting the top of the statue of the square pedestal, having the pedestal standing up and the statue laying next to it. You could try to make it look like the statue was shattered off its pedestal by making the cut very rough and having some rubble around the pedestal, and even cutting some chunks out of the statue where it would have broken as it fell.
Does that make sense?

Not a bad idea at all. If its a SM Dread I would nurgle out the Rhino door, something to make it all Chaos like.

I think the fallen statue is problematic for a couple of reasons.
Did the Dreadnought back up against it? Otherwise, it's too high for the dreadnought to step over.
It's not cracked at all, which I would expect from a stone statue of that size toppling over.
It's too large, and pulls the focus from the dreadnought.
It's kind of ambiguous. 40K doesn't tend to lend itself to subtlety. Is this statue a fallen Imperial Saint, or a smashed cult leader? One should probably look more heroic, and the other should look more sinister. By not having a clear 'message' for the statue, it looks like you had a spare statue and plopped it on the base. Even if this is the case, I would try to disguise it by giving it some more obvious Imperial (or Chaos) iconography.
I would use a smaller statue, shatter it, and have it broken up so that it appeared that the dreadnought had smashed through the rubble to advance (I don't see dreadnoughts as being the 'back up and protect my rear' types).
The rhino door is great, and a Black Legion door would contrast nicely with the silver of the Grey Knight Dreadnought. I would still try to 'crumple' the door a little bit, to make it look as if it had been blown off (or wrenched off) the Rhino itself.

If you're not married to using the door, you could have him Captain Morgan on a piece of the statue's base, with the statue in ruins behind (or in front of) the Dreadnought.
But I do agree, the complete statue with the Dreadnought will be at odds with one another. A small statue is a great idea, but either way it does need to be broken up a bit more.

Thank you for feedback. As da bulcha correctly sated I simply had a spare statue from a bitz bash day and sought to get some use, and I have no other so I'll scrap the statue.
As for the door I am married to it. I feel standing on the door gives it just that tiny bit of height, motion and realism that other Dreads lack. But not to worry, I do plan to crumple it a bit.
Does anyone know if this type of plastic bends with heat? Or is it Thermo-setting?
