Ok, just a simple question -
I know rank can be used as a bonus to leadership - is that in all cases -
I mean when you have to make a leadership test against a feared opponent, can you use the rank bonus too?

No mainly because your premise is wrong (in general - correct for one army)

Your rank bonus does not give you a bonus to leadership. It gives you a bonus when calculating Combat Resolution, which is before you get to the leadership check

Skaven have a special "Strength in Numbers" rule, whereby they get bonus leadership for their current rank bonus; this is usable for any check, as it is literally bonus to their leadership value.

Thanks for that, yes I was thinking of Skaven, good to know it does not apply to anyone.
However it is a little sad because it means they almost always get to use it since the units are cheap!

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

Remember its their Rank Bonus they apply to their leadership, not the number of ranks they have(IIRC)

So they are at a maximum of +3 to their leadership.
