Hello Tyranid players.

Usualy I use a gargoyle screen to get cover saves for my inits, but if you buy a bastion you can put a venom thrope in there and have a +5 coversave on all models around it. As you move acros the field your venomthrope can follow behind.

I realise that this is more exspensive then a aegis defense line, but could it work and/or be cool? Is there anyway else to utelise a bastion? You could get + on reserve rolls with the com-relay. I am merly musing.

with 5+ cover being so easy to get in 6th, venomthropes are pretty much useless. Unless you play a very cover light board you should be getting 5+ on most things. Even small bumps in terrain can block LOS on 25% of a gaunt. You are also spending an Elite squad for only a tiny bit of protection on only your side of the board. Once the venomthrope out of the bastion hes dead. Better to spend the points on just spamming more HG or Ymargls in the slot.
