Hey all! Shadowvast here! The Annual Origins RTT is approaching rapidly. This year we have all kinds of changes in store beyond the tournament, so come and check all the new stuff out! The RTT will be held on Saturday the 15th of June. I have listed all of the tournament details below. Dan Corbett and GTA are back this year in a big way as sponsors, and Dan will be helming the RTT just like last year.

2000 point armies

FULL 6th edition rules used with the following exceptions:

single force org. only please, allies are allowed per the allies matrix in the main rulebook

terrain will be pre-set on the tables, and no random terrain effects (though objectives still use the mysterious rules)

Standard mission rules (linebreaker, first blood etc...) apply

Imperial Armour units ARE allowed IF they are marked as 40k approved, and you are using the most recently published version of the the rules. You MUST have an actual copy of the rules you intend to use (no pdf or photocopies), and the actual model in question, no proxies please.

Please make sure you have the following with you at the tournament:

5 copies of your army list, armybuilder, excel, word whatever, but no hand written please.

painted army, 3 color minimum (we wont turn you away, but you lose big on paint score if its not painted)

tape measure, army codex, and and other rules you need to play the models in the army you bring

Dice, (DUH) any other markers you may need to play, like pain tokens, or wreck markers/craters

More details incoming, but if you have questions in the meantime, comment and ask away, We will answer as quickly as we can!

*EDIT*

1. If you want to use a model from the Imperial Armour books but no one makes a model for it (ex. the chaos dreadclaw pod) a proxy may be used, but you need to make it clear with your opponent before each game begins.

2. FAQs have been released, you need to have printed copies of those handy if they effect your army

3. New Codex WILL be released before our tournament. In order for a book to be legal it MUST be available full 30 days before the tournament.

Shadowvast,

Is there a limited number of spaces for the 40k rtt or will your team be able to handle all peeps who show?...Do i need to pre-register, etc.?...What kind of numbers do you expect, as I have not been to ORIGINS before but am looking into bringing a group with me for the weekend?...Thanks...

We have space for 60 as of last year. We have been promised additional space this year. I wouldn't be worried about space, but Origins preregistration opened yesterday and is always a good idea. You can do that at: www.originsgamefair.com.

We have really large numbers for the side events and the tournaments regularly draw a good number, but we have always had space for more in the past. I hope this helps!

Shadowvast,

Does an attendee need a ribbon for the room the 40k tourney is to be held in?...

No Sir. The ribbons are a new discount program for this year.

Origins uses a ticket system for its events. If you intend to play a lot of minis games over the weekend then this might be a good deal for you. If you are only coming on Saturday to play in our tournament, possibly not so much.

Shadowvast,

So I bought the board room pass and then 20 generic 2$ "tokens", all that nomenclature is probably off, however I will be coming up with a friend for friday night open style gaming and vending, then the 40k tourney on Saturday, and then more open gaming on Sunday. So is what I purchased seem correct?...thanks again for helpin the newbee...

You do not need any of the tokens to do open gaming or to go to the merchants hall. Those tokens are so you can take part in events, and some demos. (normally ones with prizes)

Correct. The "tokens" or "generic tickets" are simply allowing events. 20 of them should keep you busy for the weekend! Look forward to seeing you there!

Link says 2013 and that is the most current info that we have.

In addition to running the RTT on Saturday we also are hosting an 8 army challenge (all miniatures provided), a Pairs Tournament (1000 points per player, bring a friend or we will match you with a new friend), Necromunda daily, as well as beginner events for new players.

-Porkuslime

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Order of St Ursula (Sisters of Battle): W-2, L-1, T-1
Get of Freki (Space Wolves): W-3, L-1, T-1
Hive Fleet Portentosa (Nids/Stealers): W-6, L-4, T-0
Omega Marines (vanilla Space Marine): W-1, L-6, T-2
Waagh Magshak (Orks): W-4, L-0, T-1
A.V.P.D.W.: W-0, L-2, T-0

What kind of beginner events? Because while I've played 5th edition, I'm still quite new to 6th. I'm not sure if I'm going to Origins this year (since it's smack dab in between AdeptiCon and GenCon).

Pretty much 2 levels of events..

the total beginner - "what are these plastic men?"

and.. people who have played before in prior editions can get in on a slightly more advanced game. This year it is a SM Kill Team on a mission to a Tau Genetics facility.

When will details on the Pairs Tournament be available? I'm especially interested in the date/time, allies availability, restrictions on pair partners, and IA use.

The rules for the pairs tournament will be finalized in the next week or so. Porkuslime and I need to get them finalized so we'll have them up ASAP!

Our standard to date has been 1k per player, uses allies chart from BRB, and power/wargear cross based on the allies chart. We will do 3 rounds and if you can't get a partner we will have a (only one so first come first serve) spoiler army ready to jump in and fill as needed.

What time does the rtt start? And is there still space for players and can someone pay or sign up the day of?

Be there at 8am, please.. and have copies of your army lists when you get there.

We will happily accept "point of attendance" people, you will just need to aquire some generic tickets (4, IIRC) but we can work with you to help out with those.
