I thought it would be fun to try converting a Storm Talon into a flyer for my Sisters army. After the first one I still had plenty of ideas for a few more types so this then spun off into two more conversions. The first was the four engined ground attack flyer and the last was an alternate version of the first conversion. Despite the original model's iffy design its not a bad kit to convert, my idea was to make it more the fighter and less of a gunship by losing the unbalancing chin turret and lengthening the tail section. With addition of larger wings from the Storm Raven (I know not my own idea) to help make it more jet like.

Purity-class fighter.

Banisher-class strike fighter.

Vehemence-class interceptor.

The paint job was pretty simple GW's guide for the red and SSC's method for the black. The auto adjust has brightened the red somewhat it has a more matte finish to the eye but hey ho. Hope you like the models.

The first and the third conversion are great, im not so keen on the double engines of the second one though, it looks like there isnt enough wing for it to fly.

Always good to see sisters getting some conversion love though! Good work

Very nice, I especially like the second one - those assault cannons and double engines look serious! I would suggest that perhaps, while the black and gold look great and would go with either red or blue, having both red and blue is a little too much in my opinion. Perhaps the cockpit glass could be a more muted colour, like a gold or dark metallic, or a glossy black?

Hey guys thanks for all the feedback,

@ Eldar Man, thanks glad you like the models .

@ scrunty, thanks for the comments, I struggled a bit with which direction to go with double engines, the punisher cannons aren't small and when I test fitted with the Storm raven wing and one engine I struggled to make it work, as the cannons are a bit too big for the wing, so I plumped for the extra engines and shorter wings. I thought about stacking the engines as well and go for an X-Wing look but the fuselage doesn't lend itself to it, maybe one to revisit again sometime with the Nephilim as a base.

@ Godeth, thanks mate glad you like them.

@Soul Samurai, hey man glad you like the models. The canopy was my biggest headache of the whole project, I'm out of Immolator gunners otherwise the the canopy would've been clear. I thought about Dark Angels Green with bright highlights as a sort of illuminated, night vision esque cockpit effect but went blue in the end it clashes a bit so I did a black surround to try and mute the effect a touch.

@ Ratius, thanks, I was a bit worried the Multi Lasers were a bit OTT but I'm really happy with the end result,

Thanks again guys.

Love the way you did your window glass.
Care to provide a quick tutorial on that?
Sweet airplane goodness for the ladies.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?

Very nice! You may be able to alter the loadout to use them as avengers. I was thinking of using the new DA fighter to rep an avenger.

Thanks glad you like the model. The canopy is dead easy, white undercoat, followed by a thin coat of Shadow Grey, then Ultramarines Blue all over, then two stages of highlights around the edges of the windows and then a tiny thinned patch of Skull White in the corners. Finally using one of the Ultramarines Blue highlights dry brush over the centre of the windows just to break the flatness a bit. I'm afraid I don't what the new names for these paints are, I'm sure there's a conversion chart around the net somewhere.

I'll probably use them as counts Avenger's. My opponents are all easy going and won't mind me using them, well till they start chewing up marine squads anyway! Even if the WYSIWYG is way off, what else would they be with no allies? I've knocked up some rules and background for them and I'll probably post them up and see what people think, I don't get many games in these days so playtesting out but its always a fun exercise to come up with your own stuff. Thanks Pretre, hope to see your conversion at some stage.
