In the last match I played my Chaos bikers got assaulted by a squad of Death Cult Assassins. My bikes had turbo-boosted the previous round so had a massive cover save. In real life one would never charge a bike squadron in full flight, even in terminator armour. We couldn´t find any rules speaking against charging something that is turbo-boosting, only that since I had turbo-boosted I wasn´t allowed to fire overwatch..
What do you guys make of it?
Peace is a lie, there is only passion...and bacon!
you can fire overwatch, bikes are only unable to act for the "rest of the turn" when the rules use "turn" on it's own, that means a player turn.
So once your assault phase is over and you pass control over to your opponent, your bikes are no longer restricted by having turbo-boosted, and can once again perform any voluntary actions they might be able to perform during the opponents turn, such as overwatch.
Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

I don't have any literature to hand but i'm inclined to agree with the above post. All a turbo-boost does is ends that unit's actions for the rest of your turn, you take your shooting and your assault phase and exchange them both for a turbo-boost move. That's it. If I then assault the unit after you've turbo-boosted I would fully expect it to fire at me via Overwatch.
Are you sure Luusomi? You say that this would never happen, even in Terminator armor. Can you not think of a single movie or television program where someone clotheslines someone else off of a bike? (Or yanks someone out of a moving car?)
If a turkey can do it, I think a Terminator can manage it.

not what I said. a terminator would never back out of a fight, unless he´s a ultra marine of course. what I meant was that with the kinetic energy of a CSM/SM bike moving at full speed, not even tactical dreadnought armour would keep you on your feet. it would definetly protect you but you´d be knocked back:-P

I hope that your "massive" cover save was only a 5+, since the only cover save bikes have is conferred by the "Jink" USR.
Turbo-boosting does not improve your cover save.

Actually Turbo Boosting does improve your cover save. P.38 for more info.

Of course it is possible the Champ gained Shrouded from the Boon table. happened last game I played in. at that point they just wrecked everything...
Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

True, or had a model with stealth in the unit as well as "Shrouded from the Boon table."
That would make a tough as nails unit with a 2+ cover save as long as they moved in their movement phase.

to my knowledge the only thing that is disallowed against a vehicle/unit that goes flat out is boarding planks. I only have ork codex so not 100% sure on this one, but i do know the BRB doesnt have anything about disallowing charges by how far something moved.

Realism!?! In 40k?
40k Realism when being rammed by a bike moving at full speed would be to punch the bike (or the ground in front of the bike) to send it flipping overhead, like it was a superhero movie.
