How do cover saves, for the case of lets say a tervigon with a group of gaunts in front of him, work for shots from flyers?
If there is a pack of gaunts in the los from the flyer does the tervigon get a save?

Its true LOS, and you check for LOS from each weapon on vehicles so you will have to check from each weapon

The more correct way to say it is "It's True LOS so check to see if the gants obscure 25% of the Tervigon."

Worth mentioning in the case above they may still be granted a save from a intervening unit regardless of cover from the uni % [edit, regardless of cover % but has to be in some way blocking it]

In otherwords, probably not. Its kind of the whole point of a flyer: altitude provides an unobscured view for a weapons platform. The price paid for a flyer is a weapon that eventually will fly off the table and will most likely never receive a cover save itself.

MC and FMC gain cover in the same manner as an infantry model does: That is if 25% of the model is obscured or if the model is in Area Terrain or if the enemy if firing through an intervening unit. The guants won't obscure 25% of Tervigon but they still may be intervening. So you would have to check and see if any part of the tervigon's body is obscured by the guants from the standpoint of the weapon barrel. If any part of the Tervigon's body is obscured then you are still firing through the guant unit and not over it. In most cases the guants won't be able to obsure the Tervigon from a Flyer.
