Painted that for a friend running a campaign where he plays a dwarf female.

Figurine chosen to represent a newly created character.

Picture editing is me still trying to learn how Gimp works

Solid paintjob, nice work! The eyes looks really good.

Agreed, Karokk - to get eyes with properly proportioned irises that are looking in a consistent direction at this scale is no small feat. Most ignore them or get the dreaded "crazy eyes."

I'm less impressed with the picture editing, honestly (no points off for effort, though - there's a ton of work that can go into it and the learning curve is steep). I find the bright blue-green gradient a bit distracting and there is a lot of white that crept in around edges and in the space between blades of grass. I highly recommend checking out Ifalna's video tutorial on adding backgrounds with GIMP. Losing the white in enclosed areas is mostly a matter of patience, as you'll have to go in manually and add those areas to the selection, but she shows you how to clean up the mini's white edges by shrinking/feathering the selection by a few pixels. Don't really recall the specifics, but it seems to work wonders.
