When performing a slashing attack can screamers move 24 and change direction in mid flight? I do not have the ruiles and was confused on how that action works.

Thanks

IIRC they're jetbikes, or count as Jetbikes.

I don't know of anything that restricts their ability to turn.

Yes they can change direction, nothing forces turbo-boost to be done in a straight line anymore.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Or for quite a while. There was no requirement in 4th,/ 5th either, just the "no through terrain" rule and having to end up more than 18" away from where you started

There's a guy in our home store's playing group that's really butt hurt by this whole Screamers and not having to Turbo Boost in a straight line. He accused me of Rules Lawyering and saying that I was saying "it doesn't say I can't so I can".

Ugh.

Just tell him the screamers are OP and to hope that they change them in the upcoming codex, which i hope doesn't happen as i play daemons too I am dreading the flamers and screamers will get a big nerf and then there will not be anything worth taking in the daemon codex. If we know GW this will not be true, but there will be NEW OP units that will cost bucket loads of cash to get and then we humbly pay up to get a working army again

It is stated to be a move, so you just need to point out that a move doesnt have to be in a straight line. Permission is therefore given to move how you like.

Is that 18" on the path travelled, or does the end point have to be 18" from the starting point? I got shredded by screamers at a tournament doing a U-turn over a single model in the unit for 20+ hits each turn while the total distance travelled through was over 18", the actual post move distance was only about 4".

It was 18" away from the starting point - actual displacement.

Screamers can turbo boost 1" and get their improved Jink Save. They can furthermore turn or do whatever they like, since there is now no minimum distance required.

Even regular bikes can boots 1 inch.

The 18" requirement wasn't actually a mandate, it was simply the minimum "as the crow flies" displacement to be able to claim the turbo boost cover save.

So even if it still existed they could do the same barely moving slash attacks, they just wouldn't get their 4+ jink cover save.
