First things first sorry for walls of text, any formatting hints and what not will be much appreciated, sadly a camera is unlikely until I get a proper internet connection.

My FLGS is running a growing league of warmachine. Two games at 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 points. I figured why not. So, game 1 was against an opponent who ran circle. I had never played them before (it was my 3rd game of warmachine), so I figured it'd be great fun. This first report will be a bit brief, I didn't take notes at the time but I will for the next ones.

My list;
eHaley
Defender
Min Trenchers with 1 WA
The Black 13th

His list;
pKaya
2 min units of Reeves
Scarsfell Griffon
Wolf Lord Morraig

Deployment
He had first go, and he deployed his army entirely on my left, with the two forests slightly ahead of his force.
I deployed Haley and the Defender just a bit left of centre, the Trenchers ahead of them (well dug in) and the Black 13th opposite the majority of his force on the far left.

Turn 1
He went first, the usual running deal, except he went almost lateral to flee the black 13th and only a bit forwards.
I ran the Black 13th and the Defender up and over, cast Deceleration on Haley and advanced and re-dug the Trenchers facing his army's new position on my right. Damn fast circle.

Turn 2
He advances one unit of reeves into a forest opposite my Trenchers, they are out of range. He advances the other and only one guy is in range for the CRA on my trenchers. Unfortunately, being RAT 5, and my Trenchers being DEF 19 at the moment (Deceleration and Dug In), he couldn't hit them. His Griffon ran in behind the closest unit of Reeves, and Morraig ran out into the open in front of the Defender. Kaya cast Occultation on the Reeves in the front.
Haley gave 3 to her jack, advanced and cast temporal acceleration and deceleration. I ran the B13 again up on the left, reaching the forests that he laid down and getting stealth from Prowl. The trenchers advanced a bit. Loaded up with 3 focus and Temporal Acceleration, the Defender got ready to crush Morraig. Forfeiting movement for the aiming bonus, I rolled a 5 to hit on 3 dice. Not rolling a 6 would become a trend for me. That's alright, I can boost to hit and boost damage on the next shot. When the smoke clears, Morraig is left with 2 marked damage boxes, still mounted. Oops. The Trenchers try valiantly, but they only put one more damage on him. Then they start really thinking about places that they would rather be.

Turn 3
He upkeeps occultation and then the Griffon runs into contact with Lynch in the forest. I underestimated just how far that thing could go. Oh well, with all their brutal damage shots they can handle it. The Reeves put down 3 Trenchers between the two units (the one which was in the forest hadn't advanced far enough to be in range again). Morraig knocks out column 4 and all but the last cortex box on 5 on the Defender. Phew. Then Kaya gets into the forest vacated by the Reeves.
Haley gives 3 to the Defender, and casts Deceleration. The Trenchers advance to try and hurt Morraig. They fail to scratch him. The Black 13th charge the Griffon (they were all in 5"), and began to attack. Lynch missed with a 5. Watts missed with a 4. Ryan missed her first with a 5. Then she hit with her last shot, and did 2 damage to it on 3 dice. They then got ready to die. The Defender attacked Morraig and squished him with the first hit, he then placed the now dismounted solo on foot well out of combat with the Defender. Damn.

Turn 4
His Reeves kill off all of my Trenchers barring one. The Griffon eats the Black 13th. The Defender loses all of column 1 to Morraig's flailings. Kaya remains hiding in the forest.
Haley gives 3 to the Defender and casts Temporal Acceleration on it as well as Deceleration and advances to put a hedge between her and the enemy. The lone trencher runs up and stabs Morraig to death. They have a habit of doing the right thing eventually, go Trenchers. The Defender advances 9" to get just to the edge of visibility range of the Griffon, before gunning it down with 2 shots. No more fury for you Kaya, game on.

Turn 5
Last Trencher dies a horrible death from some Reeves, and Haley suffers 5 damage from a lucky/unlucky (lucky to hit, unlucky to do so little damage) CRA from the other unit of Reeves. Kaya wanders a bit further away from the Defender.
The Defender advances and shoots 2 Reeves death. This is the point where we look at eachother and think 'we should have played a scenario'. We decided to go until it ended, it was a Saturday and we didn't have work or anything important to do.

Turn 6
Bolts bounce off the Defender who is shielding Haley. Kaya stays out of Heavy Barrel range, the little flirt.
The damaged Defender and Haley look at the board and consider their options. There is a unit of Reeves to their left, and another to their right shielding Kaya. I decide to try and chain together combats to avoid getting shot. Haley gives 3 and TA to the Defender, before running in and spearing a Reeve from the 6 man unit. The Defender runs up and pulps 3 with its hammer.

Turn 7
Bolts and blades bounce off the Defender, and the Reeves flat out miss Haley. Kaya remains a bit back from the second unit (the one out of combat).
Haley gives 3 and TA to the Defender, before spearing the second last Reeve to death, remaining in combat with one. The Defender spins around, ignoring the free strikes, and runs 14" into the other unit of Reeves.

Turn 8
Kaya cuts herself like mad for 6 fury and trashes the poor defender until it only has 1 box of movement left. And he only has 2 fury left on her. The Reeves fail to hurt either of my models.
Haley keeps all 8 focus (this would turn out to be hilarious) and killed the last Reeve with her initial. The Defender misses Kaya with his hammer. Damn.

Turn 9
Kaya finishes off the Defender with her initial and 1 boosted damage roll. My opponent then works out how hard it is to hurt ARM 22 Haley with his last 3 Reeves. Ha.
Haley runs into contact with one of the Reeves and Kaya.

Turn 10
Hahaha ARM22 Haley cares naught for your POW 11 attack Kaya.
In my turn Haley finally catches the damn druid and spears her. End game.

Conclusion? More Trenchers! I'm not even kidding, I ordered the UA after the game and I have plans for the unit of 10 to be in my 35 point list, perhaps with the piper to help keep them alive even more. I just love them so much. Even though they didn't do too much. Also the B13 need to not be in combat with beasts. Or they need to roll better to hit and damage. Perhaps use deadeye as an almost auto-spell onto them so that this can't happen? I'm not sure. My opponent was a great guy, even when stuff started going wrong for him, and we both had a good laugh at Haley running Kaya down.

What do I need to add?: More long ranged anti-infantry, at the moment I rely on the B13 who I can't really use right yet, and Trenchers who lack the range. If only there was a jack who had good movement and can cull infantry...oh yeah, Cygnar has exactly that. And I already own one. Just need to get it painted.

Expansion to 20 points for next week; A Minuteman. Problem solved.

Round 2
Another game against pKaya. What are the odds both games will be against her at 15 points? This list was quite different though.
My list;
See Round 1

His list;
pKaya
Pureblood warpwolf
Feral warpwolf
Reeve Hunter
War Wolf

I get first turn. I deploy everyone centrally, he deploys his whole army behind a quite large forest in the back corner.
Turn 1
I advance everything at a run apart from the Trenchers who drop smoke.
He moves into the forest

Turn 2
3 to the defender. With a 9" move (bond and TA) he gets a line on the war wolf and kills it. Everyone else advances, hiding behind the trenchers who pop smoke in a line again.
He retreats so as everyone but the reeve solo is 3" away from the edge. So it's going to be that kind of game is it...

Turn 3
Nearly at the forests edge, smoke line from Trenchers, Defender offs the reeve solo.
He holds still

Turn 4
I advance to the forests edge, pop smoke.
The feral and the pureblood are just out of combat after their moves. Kaya walks away out the back of the forest and magics the two beasts back to her.

Turn 5
I advance into the forest, defender is just out of range of the pureblood at the back, the B13 try to circle the forest but are just out of sight of Kaya apart from Lynch, who misses.
His wolves advance towards the B13, and Kaya walks behind them, well hidden.

Turn 6
The Defender is teleported and advances around to behind the B13 and shoots at the Feral, fluffing horribly. The B13 misses awfully as well. The Trenchers walk forwards and do 1 damage to the Pureblood and Haley feats.
He walks up with a wolf on either side of the B13. Kaya is a bit open on the far side of them.

Turn 7
The B13 try to get a line on Kaya by walking out of combat, Watts gets et, Lynch gets et, Ryan legs it safely and misses Kaya twice. The Defender puts all but 3 damage on Kaya. So close, dammit Ryan, do your job.
In his turn Kaya kills Ryan, the Feral eats the last of the Trenchers and the Pureblood knocks out the movement and the gun arm and the hammer arm of my defender.

Turn 8
Defender is telekenises'es'ed out of combat and walks towards Kaya, boosts to hit his initial and misses, boosts to hit his next attack, hits, rolls a 1 for damage. But she is ARM 14, I'm P+S 16, and she only has 3 damage left. Victory Cygnar

Conclusion; That was interesting. I don't know what I really would have done differently, I should have finished her with either the Defender or Ryan on the turn before, but that is just how the dice work sometimes. I need a way to force people out of their safe zones, but when their safe zones are something like that (where I just can't see them inside), I don't really know what to do.

Round 4
eHaley
Defender
Minuteman
Min Trenchers with 1 WA
The Black 13th

His army;
eLylyth
2x Ravagores
2 Strider Deathstalkers
Shepherd

I got first turn. I wasn't too confident about this game, he was a pretty experienced gamer, and when another person walked past he saw his list and mine, chuckled a bit, and walked on. Anyway I got Turn 1, so on with the story

Deployment
Everyone central, minuteman on the far left flank for me. Battlegroup central and stalkers on the flanks for him.
Turn 1
3 focus to the minuteman, 1 to the defender. The trenchers assault the right stalker (by my view) and do two damage, none reach combat. The minuteman gets to the left hand stalker and does 1 damage in combat. Defender runs and haley casts deceleration. B13 run up.
He advances, Ravagores knock out the Defender's Cortex, the stalker on the right kills two trenchers and the other stalker gets crushed by a free strike from the minuteman. His battle group gets stealth.

Turn 2
Minuteman was out of control range, he advanced towards the rear of his battlegroup and flakfielded to hit Lylyth with the POW 6 (why not), no damage. Deadeye and Temporal Acceleration on Defender, rest stays with Haley. Defender misses Ravagore both times, Trenchers fail to kill the stalker, Haley hides behind the Defender and feats.
He stays still, Lylyth gives up her action to retreat and feat and upkeep stealth for the battlegroup. The Ravagores kill off the B13 and nearly do the defender in, don't manage to scatter onto Haley. The stalker kills off another 2 trenchers.

Turn 3
Last chance. I need some luck here. 3 focus to minuteman, and lylyth only has 2 transfers on her. Temporal Acceleration from Haley onto the minuteman as well as deadeye. Everyone else just chips away at the ravagores for no real effect. Minuteman advances towards Lylyth, flaks to kill the shepherd and fail to damage Lylyth, and then shoots. Needs a 10 on four dice, rolls an 8. Whelp. Hit with the next 2 boosted attacks and forces the two transfers, but that did for my chances really.
In his turn a Ravagore eats Haley.

Things I learnt from this game; F*** eyeless sight. Seriously. F*** that. And Lylyth to boot. Snipe and extra shot....son of a... More usefully, I need to ALWAYS check control, if I'd been on the ball for that then maybe the Minuteman could have helped a turn earlier to hurt Lylyth some more, maybe throw her infront of the defender or something. So yeah. Always. Check. Control.

For 25 points; I painted eCaine up. I just want another caster that I can run. I'm thinking on a quick list with him, so eCaine, Squire, B13, Trenchers with a WA, Minuteman, Hunter, Junior and eEiryss. The jacks are both (in one way or another) immune to free strikes (parry and jump) and everyone else is SPD 6 or better and ranged. I don't have any ATGM so they can't go in it. Don't have the money to just toss at them.

One more 20 pt game to come before 25 begins

Wow, why did the circle player only have 1 beast in the first game? thats a horrible idea. Second game's more like it should be.

Internet is connected in my new home Thursday. Those reports? Submitted by phone. There should be some pics, atleast of the table and maybe a few turns, for the next games, since they are played Thursday evening. Its a shame my camera isn't too great, there is a guy there who plays rask and has such a good paintjob. It's really impressive.

Great reports, really enjoyed reading them! I noticed the in the first game you fired 2 shots with the Defender's heavy barrel a couple of times. The HB is ROF 1, so you can't actually do that. Just thought you should know!

Sorry, i must have forgotten to put it down, whenever i shoot two shots it is because of eHaleys spell Temporal Acceleration. +2" move, additional shot ignoring ROF restrictions.

Thanks though, I'm new to it so any issues you think you see do bring up.

And I probably won't be able to get my next league game in this week, because I need to guinea pig for the missus so shr can practice checking blood pressure, my lungs, all sorts of stuff. Much more fun than warmachine...but what do you do.

The last opponent of these first rounds didn't have his army painted by tonight so I decided I'd play him next week, but I did get my first game with eCaine in, so I'll give it a brief write up, since I can't sleep.

My list;
eCaine
Minuteman
Squire
JWC
Hunter
B13
Trenchers w/ 1WA
eEiryss

His list (as I count it up now he is 1 point over. Oh well);
Zerkova
Sylys
Demolisher
Drakhun
Doom Reavers
Assassins w/ Underboss

He got Turn 1, advanced everything with the Drakhun on his right flank. My hunter advanced towards the Drakhun and did 5 damage, everyone else central and eEiryss on the far left running way ahead.

Turn 2 saw his assassins run into contact with the trenchers and spaced out behind them, his reavers amongst them followed by the demolisher and his caster. Drakhun tried to charge the hunter and didn't fit between a gap in a wall. Poor guy, he didn't know the rule, but he was such a good sport, I told him he could run instead but he owned his mistake and ended at the wall.

The hunter made his Drakhun dismount and Junior damaged him a bit, ryan's AOE deviated (even with an aiming bonus) and hit 1 doom reaver killing it. Watts and Lynch missed their shots. Pulled 1 from the squire and advanced and feated. He killed all but 3 assassins and 1 doom reaver for a total of 12 enemy kills, and 1 trencher who got caught in an AOE. That worked out for the best though, it cleared his firing lane to another clump of enemies. But it did open him up to zerkova, and damn he's squishy. eEiryss disrupted the jack.

Turn 3 saw his doom reaver fail command, and his assassins pass. Drakhun damaged the hunter a bit. Demolisher advanced, he activated sylyss for the faux signs and portents, cast razor wind for 1 focus (with the artefact), boosting hit and damage to do 8 damage. cast again, boosted to hit, missed. Then he cast again and missed. Such luck.

Caine shot and killed her.

Well that was fun, he is definitely different to eHaley, and good god his feat.....HIS FEAT!

Anyway yeah, that'll have to do until next week, and there were no pics because I knew my opponent wouldn't be able to play, so I doubted if I'd find a game, so I just bought models and what not, no camera. Apologies

Ok first of all my apologies, I couldn't find what seemed like an appropriate moment to whip out my camera and take a few snaps, I'm weak. I hope this will satisfy until next week when I'll grow a pair and just use the camera.

Game 1 - 25 points, eCaine (me) vs Rask (Aaron)

For this level we began playing scenarios, every 25 pt game would be Close Quarters.

eCaine
Squire
Defender
Black 13th
Journeyman Warcaster
Hunter
Arcane Tempest Gun Mages

Rask
Bull Snapper
Ironback Spitter
3 Croak Hunters
Gatorman Witch Doctor
Totem Hunter
2 Min units of Bog Trog Ambushers

He won Turn 1 on the roll off, and took it. He deployed all the regular deployment models in the right half of his deployment zone, with the Bog Trogs in ambush. I deployed everyone more centrally, with the Black 13th opposite the meat of his forces. He advance deployed the Croak Hunters on my right flank (far away from his main force on his left) and i dropped the hunter ahead of the Black 13th.

Turn 1
He advanced pretty regularly, the Totem Hunter preying on the Black 13th. Nothing special.

Black 13th advance on top of a hill, everyone else advances, Hunter pops a shot off at the Totem Hunter who I didn't know had stealth. Well I do now. Caine and the Gun Mages advance.

Turn 2
He continues the advance, zombifies the Totem Hunter, and with a hop skip and a jump the Totem Hunter reaches the Black 13th and misses Lynch by 1. The Spitter hits the hunter and knocks out the long arm. Damn. Rask moves up close to the objective but not dominating. The Croak hunters have one guy in range and miss the ATGM.

The Black 13th knock the Totem Hunter down twice but he passes both tough rolls. Whelp, they're done. The Defender misses the Spitter after advancing infront of the objective and the Hunter advances to block the objective as well. Caine and the ATGM murder the croaks and he dominates the objectives in the same move. Junior and the Hunter advance towards my objective.

Turn 3
His Trogs arrive and between one of the units and the Totem Hunter they murder the Black 13th. The Spitter nearly wrecks the Hunter, and Rask disrupts the Defender and dominates his objective. Spitter kills the Hunter and he feats.

I rearrange my lines opposite him, the board turned 90 degrees by this point. Not much I can do, I'm a long way from 5" away, and I can't even target him to try and float a CRA from the gun mages at him. Oh well. End Turn

Turn 4
He disrupts the Defender again, and moves more bog trogs around him to ensure lots of sacrifices are available. Spitter damages the Defender.

I clear out a lot of the bog trogs and try to assassinate. This loses me the game because I miscounted the control points. I should have thunderstruck him off the objective and kept doing that while killing the spitter and using caine to mow down trogs. I just called it here after I realized my mistake, because all he had to do was pass his turn and he'd hit 5 points and win. Good game with a nice opponent.

My second game was against Pigs, and the store manager at 25 points.

eHaley
Defender
Squire
Journeyman Warcaster
Hunter
Arcane Tempest Gun Mages
Black 13th

Carver
Road Hog
War Hog
Gun Boar
Gun Boar
Razor Boar
Razor Boar
Targ

I won't write a proper report for this one because I lost the game in my turn 2 because for some reason I forgot there was killbox, gave him 2 points plus the one for the end of the turn, and after that we called it. I had failed to hit or damage with the defender or hunter on his big beasts for more than 4 damage at a time, and the black 13th had just managed to kill the two little pigs one turn with the help of a hunter and one of the temporally accelerated defender's shots. I was intimidated by the pigs getting to these walls mid field turn 1/2 with the help of mobility, and my inability to shift them because of some poor luck. It made me realise my next purchase is going to be the kit with the hammersmith and centurion so I can have a jack who can dish out some proper hurt in close combat, and in the case of the centurion take a hit as well. We also made a few rule mistakes which didn't help me in the least, but oh well. Next time.

I had another game at 20 points against a pButcher list, but that'll come later.

20 points, eCaine vs pButcher

Butcher
Beserker
Kodiak
Saxon Orrik
Max Iron Fang Pikemen w/ UA

eCaine
Hunter
Squire
ATGM w/ UA
Defender

I won the roll off and took 2nd. He set up the IFP centrally, with the butcher and his battlegroup on his left, and saxon on his right. I set up the ATGM with the defender opposite the IFP, and caine with his battlegroup on my right.

Turn 1
He minifeated with the pikemen and went straight ahead, everyone else ran/advanced/cast iron flesh and charged beside them.

My ATGM advanced, some sniped Orrik to kill him and the others started doing ridiculously well killing one pikemen then knocking the others around, severely reducing the effectiveness of his shield wall. The Defender killed another, and the Hunter failed to, and then Caine went to town leaving the 2 members of the UA alive.

Turn 2
He continued running his battlegroup towards, charging with the pikemen to engage two of my gun mages and kill 1.

My jacks started shooting at his jacks, severely damaging the beserker. The gun mages cleared the remaining IFP members out, and caine finished off the juggernaut.

Turn 3
He tried to obliterate caine but missed, kodiak continued running. HE was left with no focus about 7" away.

At this point we knew I had won, he had 1 jack against a basically untouched army of mine. So I could have stayed still, unleashed 7 focus (from the squire) worth of bullets, as well as the defender, the gun mages, and the hunter into Butcher. But I wanted to try to kill someone with gatecrashing, so I gatecrashered caine, failed to kill butcher with some awful damage rolls. Lol. Oh well, I knew that I had won.

Turn 4
Caine dies.

It was great fun against an opponent who was a really good sport. We accidentally had a wardog on the table for 2 turns, but he realised the math error before it became an issue, and the puppy left bringing the points back to even.
