So, based on the advice from this thread here about starting an army, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/503070.page , i've tried to come up with the basis of a Lizard force.

Saurus Block

Skink Block
. . 1 Skink Chief (Battle Standard Bearer), (Javelin; Light Armour; Shield; Battle Standard)
. . 19 Skinks, (Champion; Musician; Standard Bearer; Javelin & Shield)

Cold One Cavalry
. . 10 Cold One Cavalry, (Champion; Musician; Standard Bearer; Javelin & Shield; Banner of Swiftness)

Salamander
. . 1 Salamander Hunting Pack (3x Handlers)

Comes to exactly 1000pts.


I dunno. Seems weak somehow, but I'm not used to fantasy.

Unless i was fielding an all skink army, i would never take a skink BSB.

Yes it cheaper but that "bunker" isn't going to stand up to anything and will flee, the second they do your BSB dies when the unit flees. cold blooded will help but not when so many skinks are killed its double 1 to stay.

For me CoC are a bit too expensive at 1k buy it will hit hard so could be interesting to try out.

Not got book to hand but dropping the skinks and BSB nets you around 200 points?

A Scar Vet- BSB, enchanted shield is 115 ish.

I would then use the spare for either a unit of skink skirmishers or more saurus.
