Ultramarine Land Raider Pilot on Cruise Control

I'm playing in a 1999+1 FLGS Tournament on February 16th and I have to have everything painted. With this time restraint I need to figure out my elite choices and figure them out fast!
I have no idea what anyone is going to run; army-wise or list-wise. I know there will be at least 1 IG player and 1 CSM player. Both with flyers.
My list runs 2 Flyrants, 2 Tervigons, and 3 Carnifexes with pods. However I don't know what will balance out the list more.
Do you guys think:
6 (2 broods) of Hive Guards and 1 Doom in a pod is going to be efficient? OR
4 (2 broods) of Zoanthropes and 1 Doom in a pod? OR
2 Zoanthropes and 3 Hiveguards and 1 Doom in a pod?
Let me know what you'd think is best at 2k and briefly why!
Thanks for any responses. I'm finishing my Flyrants tonight (finishing touches on carapaces) then I need to buy, build, and paint my Elite choices!
EDIT: Finished my Flyrant!

I haven't used Hive Guard in 6th at all and I haven't really missed them. The extra buffing from Zoeys is just awesome.

Zoeys are flexible but hive guard still have thier uses. I'd go for 1 of each if you're not sure of meta.

I like a little of each personally. DoM is a no brainer. Hive Guard are always handy to have when you don't know what to expect. Zoanthropes have the option of taking codex or book powers depending on what list you end up facing. No tanks? No problem, roll some biomancy for extra help. Lots of tanks then keep warp lance. Not much else in the codex for dealing with AV 14 from range.

I have no idea what the meta is going to be at my FLGS!! In my list currently I have 4 Zoanthropes and with my friends, they do great. Both players I usually am up against at Necrons and IG and they run AV13/AV14 front armor and my Hiveguard are usually worthless in all my games.
The only reason I'm considering running 1-3 Hiveguards at all is because of Eldar. I know my list has a lot of Psykers and they make be roll 3d6 for tests and Deny the Witch on a 4+... On top of that, they run a lot of skimmers with 3+ cover saves with rerolls with Fortune. 3+/3+ is rough. But with Hiveguard they don't get those saves anymore.
Against any other army, I feel like the Zoans will be plenty. Am I being over worried about Eldar or are they actually my biggest concern with 2 Flyrants, 2 Terv, 4 Zoans, 1 Doom (9 psykers in one list)?

They don't get cover saves in CC. Just use the old punch-them-in-the-face-until-they-die trick.

With all the drop pods going on, you should have a good chance of sniping out those runes. They do go away when the beater dies, right? I run Necrons, so psychic stuff isn't exactly well knownto me.

To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how Eldar works. Never played against them. If they have runes on Leaders, I could drop and aim for models closest if he doesn't have them in the center of his units/squads. Good idea, just don't know enough about Eldar to tell you if it's effective. Maybe an Eldar player could tell us how to effectively counter Runes, Eldar Tactics, etc?
Thanks!

My $.02:
Mass Zoanthropes and Doom. Doom will shred infantry, and draw fire away from your monstrous creatures so you won't lose them to stray lasgun shots. Multiple broods of Zoanthropes in pod will either give your Fexes and Flyrants FNP, or crack the metal boxes that the Devourers can't hurt(Ghost Arks and Land Raiders come to mind).
Hive Guard are good, don't get me wrong, it's just that they are movement 6" range 24", no deep strike or outflank option: they can't help your MCs alpha strike in the same way Zoanthropes can.

The most likely place to find Runes are on Eldrad. He's most likely in the middle of a unit that will have a really good save, probably re-rollable. He's got a 2+ Look out Sir, and a 3++ which will probably be re-rollable. Very hard to snipe. Probably easiest to kill in close combat, but beware that harlequins are pretty good in close combat, up there with stealers plus they have ability to get re-rolls on everything.
Second most popular that I've seen is on a jetbike runeseer. They also most likely have a re-rollable 3+ save, and lots of movement to get away. Should be easier to deal with this version due to drop pods, but still the best option is close combat.
The good news is that there usually is only one model in the army with runes. If you can stop that one model, you can stop runes.
One thing to consider... sometimes people ally in Eldar just for a cheap runeseer and some jetbikes. In those armies, it might be even harder to get at the seer because the rest of the army might be more competative than you would typically see in an Eldar Army. DE beasts for example.

Skimmer tank saves are 5+, not 3+. Re rollable helps, but volume of S6 shots will glance them down right quick, as will a few S10 hits. At 125 points for a transport, they are basically no longer playable in a competitive environment, except to use them to transport Eldar's one under costed unit, Fire Dragons. the latest FAQ denying Farseers the ability to cast from inside tanks really hurt, you are much less likely to see the rerollable save on the tank, the Death Stars are first priority for that power. You are unlikely to see more than one in a competitive force - TL,DR, worry much more about Helldrakes than Eldar skimmers!

I also heard if you move Flat Out with Eldar skimmers they get 3+ Cover save. Since I can't drop the fexes and assault on the same turn, he'll most like run out of my Assault range. Making assaulting them and voiding their cover saves a lot harder. From what I hear, most Eldar run a 500+ point Biker squad and cast fortune on them every turn. Are the runeseers the ones that force me to run 3d6 for psychic tests or 4+ DtW tests? Can you run more than 1 on a list? Does any Eldar players do that or is it a waste of points? EDIT: In my current list it's: 2 Flyrants 2 Terv 10x2 Gants 1 Doom in Pod 2 Zoans (1 in each Brood, for synapse ranges on drop pods and the ability to target multiple tanks) 3 Dakkafexes in Pods

You mean "can't" not "can" right?
