Subject: Ork Tank Rules questions- tank shock and ammo runts

So I just had a game and a couple of ork rule questions came up during play.
1. If you use an ammo runt to reroll a to hit on a shokk attack gun, does it also reroll the variable strength?
2. If you tank shock a unit with a deffrolla, and a secon unit is between you and the final unit you are tank shocking, do the intervening units also take deffrolla hits? (I'd appreciate a page reference on this one, because I referred the guy to the tank shock section about intervening models and we still couldn't agree.)
Thanks!

The key to strategy is not to choose a path to victory, but to choose so that all paths lead to a victory.
War is beautiful because it establishes man’s dominion over the subjugated machinery by means of gas masks, terrifying megaphones, flame throwers, and small tanks. War is beautiful because it initiates the dreamt-of metalization of the human body. War is beautiful because it enriches a flowering meadow with the fiery orchids of machine guns. War is beautiful because it combines the gunfire, the cannonades, the cease-fire, the scents, and the stench of putrefaction into a symphony.

1. Based on the wording, if you re-roll I believe you would re-roll the strength as well. However, I'm not sure if the ammo runt can be used on blast weapons as there is no To Hit roll to re-roll.
2. You declare how far you are tank shocking. Every enemy unit in your path is tank shocked and take the deffrolla hits.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Thanks! good to know both of those are going my way! For for the tank shocking, is there a direct answer in an faq adressing that somewhere, becaus even though I thought the rule was pretty clear in the tank shocking section, the guy I was playing just wouldn't believe it.

1. I'm not sure about this one regarding strength, but Happyjew is wrong on at least part. You do roll to hit for a blast weapon, which is why you can have things such as Twin-Linked Havoc Launchers.
2. I believe this is covered in the FAQ.

Tank Shock rules state that you declare your distance, you then move until you reach an enemy unit or the distance declared. If the tank is not stopped by DoG, you keep moving. The picture on page 85 even shows multiple units getting Tank Shocked. Deff Rolla says that it inflicts hits against units it tank shocks. Automatically Appended Next Post: Dr. What wrote:1. I believe this is covered in the FAQ. Blast: When firing a Blast weapon, models do not roll To Hit. So no, Blast weapons do not have a To hit roll. To be fair, I assumed that ammo runt was only allowed on a failed To Hit roll, which would have made my statement about the SAG not being affected correct. So I stand corrected on that point.

No the ammo runt just rerolls the scatter and the distance dice. The Strength has nothing to do with the actual shot being fired.
This is why people bring the ammo runt, so if they get that magical double 6 or hell just a good strength and they miss they can try again.
