Hi all

I know in the most recent Eldar FAQ that Farseers can no longer use the codex powers whilst in a vehicle, but I have read in a post on dakka that this does not stop them using rulebook powers while in a vehicle.

Is this the case? And can it be backed up with a rulebook quote or FAQ entry?

If so, then my two Farseers will most likely be using rulebook powers all the time until the next eldar codex!

These are my thoughts - when I asked the question, no one disagreed.

This is copied from the eldar FAQ.
Q: The Farseer Psychic Powers rules state that they do not require the
Eldar Psyker to have line of sight to the target. Does this mean that they
can be used by an Eldar psyker embarked on a Transport? (p28)
A: No.

I think the phrase 'Farseer Psychic Powers' specifically refers to the Eldar codex powers. 'Farseer Psychic powers rules state that they do not require the farseer to have line of sight to the target', I believe is specifically referencing non-los powers like fortune from the codex which use that specific wording.

This next faq quote is to try to define 'farseer psychic powers'. It references 'Farseer Pyschic powers' guide and doom.

Q: Do Dark Eldar allies count as Eldar for the Farseer psychic
powers Fortune and Guide? (p28)
A: No.

I don't feel that the brb divination and telepathy disciplines could be called 'farseer psychic powers'as they are available to anyone pretty much. This would mean we can cast the same as everyone else while in a vehicle as the FAQ stops codex powers (although still no witch fire as we have no fire points).

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

I would say yes, the psyhic powers in the eldar codex are called Farseer pyshic powers, that is what the FAQ is referring to. If they were called eldar psyhic powers then it would be no.

Excellent, thanks for the responses guys.

Guess this means my 2 Farseers (and Eldrad when I use him) will be loading up on Telepathy and Divination powers until the next Eldar codex (I am hearing rumours of May but won't believe it until the book is in my hand!).
