Hey Guys,
this is my first 500p-list and i´d like to know if there are severe mistakes or things you would swap. I´d like to focus on an more or less authentic 21th century mechanised infantry-scenario. In the future id like to builk the list up with some leman russes but time will tell.

I'd ditch the sentinel and give the CCS some weapons that'll actually do something. With that it looks good.

Are the sniper rifles the issue? Would you rather put them on a veteran squad or are sniper rifles bad in general? I sort of like them fluffwise.. Maybe id rather go and put em on some count-as ratlings...

List looks pretty good to start, but arm the CCS better...say plasma guns or meltas. The snipers you will find to be a bit lacking.

The snipers are the problem.

My first 500 points of Imperial Guard looked like this:

Company Command Squad, with 2 Plasma Guns, mounted in a Chimera
Veteran Squad with 3 meltaguns, mounted in a Chimera
Infantry Platoon Command Squad with 2 Flamers
1 Infantry Squad with Commissar, Flamer and Autocannon
1 Infantry Squad with Flamer and Autocannon

I blobbed the infantry squads together, to get something big enough to resist charges, and lay down hellacious firepower with orders.
The CCS and the Veterans moved up to engage more dangerous targets.

I agree, the snipers are the problem. I'd also hate to see the sentinel go, but in this case, I think the carrier cost is too great a burden.

For the price of a lascannon sentinel, you could buy a lascannon for the CCS and still have the points left over for a pair of plasma guns, or something. Drop the sentinels and the snipers, and you can afford for everyone to have a lascannon, with points to spare.
