Been reading through Angel Exterminatus and found that Kroeger and Forrix, 2 of the iron warriors from storm of iron are lead characters in the novel, and found that Kroeger during the HH to be a pretty likeable guy as opposed to him in storm of iron where he's just a sadistic khorne berserker. Also the part where he challenged perturabo to a TABLETOP game of the siege of the imperial palace shows he's honestly got balls of iron.

My initial thought about this was "hey he's a pretty stand up guy even for a traitor astartes, shame he died the way he did in storm of iron".

Just wanted to get other people's opinions about characters in the current 40k novels they've read about and seeing them appearing under a different light in the HH series

He went from a 1 dimensional character from the CSM codex to the intelligent psychic version of Conan or Riddick.

Personally, I'm loving what they have done with the Primarchs. Nothing is cut and dried and I'm now liking primarchs who seemed very 2 dimensional before (Perturabo &Curze) and hating primarchs I thought I would like (Dorn and Ferrus .... not because they are unbelievable, but because they are d..ks )

I know there are haters out there who think the HH series is dragging on but I'm digging it more and more ... keep writing ADB, Betrayer rocked

Personally I'm liking the way Mcneil is writing Perturabo's character

I really like the chaaracter Argel Tal in the book First Heretic.
However as he started getting more demonic and chaos I kinda started hating him....until the last few pages where he is described as Holding the sword of his once-friend Custodian. That Scene really touched me.
