Greatings, all.
Newbie member from Essex, UK here. How're we doing?
I thought I'd take this time and say "hello" to everyone. I've been a fan of Warhammer 40,000 since I was about 13. My first foray into the game was when, at 13, I spent a fortune for a young teen of £50.00 on my first starter box from GW, the army I picked was Chaos Space Marines. After a painting session that consisting of undercoating the models black and painting their horns white I played one game and stopped 
When I was 16 I picked up Warhammer Fantasy and, again, played one game as the Empire... At least i'm consistent.
After that I gave up on wargamming to be honest and went about my merry way, though I was still a huge fan of the Black Library novels and the computer-games that were released, esp. Dawn of War. I learnt the fluff and canon of the Warhammer World and fell back into love with the game; my unshakable allegiance now turning and sticking with the Imperium; the Imperial Guard mainly.
Currently I have a 1000 point Imperial Guard army, I've been playing for over a year, though I still count myself as a proper novice and I'm now taking the plunge into painting them, which I find really fun and super additive.
The bug this time has well and truly stuck and I'm happy that it has. I'm looking forward to asking questions, being told "don't do it that way", learning loads and hopefully having a good time doing it.

I can empathise with that, I also picked up Empire when I was 16 and have played only a handful of games with them. Welcome.
