Maybe this has already been brought up

My local group add the Skyfire and interceptor rules to Hunter Killer Missiles

Also we give armies that don't have the hunter killer some sort of equivalent

You would probably need to triple the cost to make such a thing balanced, I mean one can already slay a transport with an HK missile, but now for just 10 points one has an infinite range AA weapon.

It's one use. 10 points. And fires on BS. If it was auto hit it should be 25.

And with that 25 points you can bring down a 100+ point flyer before it can even use any of its weapons. Perhaps you could give them an option between Frag, Krak, and Flakk HK missiles with the former two being 10 points (not sure if they cost more for SM) each and the latter being 25 points. It offers more balance since while one can still take some AA weapons they need to give up anti-infantry and anti-ground vehicle capabilities to have it.

Yeah, 25points for a single str7 shot is dumb. HK missiles at 10pts are already useless because of their price (especially guard ones).

A regular 10pt missile launcher can also kill 100+pt model (and pretty much any other gun in the game), so I fail to see why that's a valid argument.


Adding skyfire and interceptor would make them a very good stopgap AA weapon, and 10-15pts would be a fair price.

TBH HK missiles would probably be fine at 10 points with just Skyfire and a special rule letting them use normal BS against ground targets, without gaining Interceptor. I'm honestly not sure that people would take them anyway.

With a striking 5% chance! So you will need 9-10(!) HK missiles to bring down one flyer. And I dunno, but in 6th edition, I1m happy to see 3 or 4 vehicles on the field (what could potentially carry HKs).

10 points/missile seems fine for me. Maybe I would even consider using it on my Rhinos...
