Hey fellow Dakkanites I was just curious,
In April I'm taking my first trip overseas to London England, and was wondering if there's any gaming companies or stores that would be worthwhile to check out while i was there.
I know I'm not going to be able to see the GW HQ in Nottingham, as that's a bit too far away to make during my 7 days there, as I have to go to Paris too.
But any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

It's not gaming, but if you like Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comics or other geek culture, I'd check Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue. They're pretty rare in the UK but could be ten a penny on your continent! XD
Within a minute or two's walk of there is Orc's Nest, which is a little local game store. I've only seen it when visiting London, but been in and it seems to have a pretty big selection, especially for buying a model as a souvenir

April is the best month to be in london on the 20th theres Salute! Its like the biggest yearly wargaming expo. Google it out you are not going to regret it, just be prepared to spend money, I mean big money because there are tons of minis to buy there.
Another store in london is Darksphere.

As Navarro says, Salute would be well worth a visit if you are here at that time. You might meet a number of Dakkanauts at the show.

Nottingham is about 1 hour 40 minutes away from London, so Warhammer World is easy enough to make a day trip to. Whether or not it's worth it depends on how into warhammer you are I guess.

Depends where you are staying...
In Central London , Orcs Nest is more a rpg shop , Dark Sphere near Waterloo is the most central london wargames shop I know of. Empire Minitures out towards Gants Hill too
If you want a games day , Tabletop Nation is closer to London, and alot cheaper by train.
Aim for Salute too , it is massive.

There are plenty of wargame related things which aren't shops to visit.
The Tower of London, HMS Belfast and Imperial War Museum can be covered in a day (moving quickly) and if you have time for out of London day trips, Duxford Aerodrome, Bovington Tank Museum and Dover Castle are within easy reach.
Portsmouth naval dockyard and Royal Marines Museum can be done in a long day though it is worth staying overnight to make the most of it.

Awwwww. Salute sounds amazing! unfortunately im only there from the 4th to the 12th so I'll be missing it 'tear'
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I appreciate it. I'll be staying in the Kensington area, so it should all be easy to get to, and ill be making sure to do a lot of the museums and local tourist things as well while I'm there. Also i have to go on a jack the Ripper walk :-) Cuz its Jack the Ripper, need I say more?
