I’ll be playing a game with my Eldar versus Chaos Marines. It will be a 1500pt game and we’ve agreed to basically keep it a CC focused battle.
Here is what I’m facing: I’m not sure what items or additional abilities his CL will have or the exact number of Berserkers he’ll have so I’m guesstimating. I’m also assuming all will have MoK.
HQ - Kharn the Betrayer
HQ - Chaos Lord
T – Chaos Space Marines w/flamer and or Meltagun (10)
T – Chaos Space Marines w/flamer and or Meltagun (10)
T – Chaos Cultists w/Autoguns and 2 Hvy Stubbers (20)
E – Khorne Berserkers W/Chainaxes (20)
E – Mutilators (3)
I was thinking of fielding the following:
HQ – Avatar of Khaine
HQ – Karandras
T – Dire Avengers (5)
T – Storm Guardians w/2 Fusion Guns & 1 Warlock w/Spiritseer & Enhance (16+1)
E – Striking Scorpions w/Exarch w/Chainsabres (8+1)
E – Howling Banshees w/Exarch w/Mirrorswords, War Shout & Acrobatic (9+1)
E – Harlequins w/Shadowseer & Troupe Master. All with Harlequin’s Kiss (8+1+1)
H – Wraithlord w/flamers, Starcannon & Wraithsword (2)
That’s 1495pts
I’m debating reducing the number of S.G. to increase # of D.A. The D.A. are basically there as fire support, even though their range is weak.
The S.G. are basically there to intercept the initial charge(s) and increase chances of elite units getting to charge instead of being charged. I know I’ll attack first even if charged, but will get less attacks and I think I’ll desperately need those to survive.
Avatar and Wraithlords will stay close to S.G. to confer ‘Fearless’ and leadership of Avatar and benefit from Spiritseer ability.
I’m basically using this battle to showcase the different Eldar CC units versus Chaos Marines in this case. I assume I’m the big underdog here.
Any input would be MUCH appreciated. Be critical as necessary
