Was wondering what you thought of the white shoulder pads. I am thinking of redoing them in red.

I think it looks really good as is.

That said, I think it would look better if the helmet were white as well. I like the white shoulder pads because they match with the tabard (the little cloth thingy over the groin, it is a tabard, isn't it?) and add some variety to the model, so I think they should stay white. The helmet seems to clash a little.

That's just my opinion, for what it's worth. You should also note that I am red/green colorblind, so I tend to not like reds.

I would give the helmet a center white stripe and add more contrast to the model overall but otherwise the color scheme is good.
I like the white shoulders. A stripe on the helm will pull it in with everything else.

I think Wagguy's suggestion of a white helmet stripe is a good one. if you do want more red on the model, you could repaint the lower (presently yellow) parts of the pads in red?

I'd also suggest changing the tassels (either highlight them, or paint them a different colour), as I think that having them the same shade as the upper shoulder pads looks funny. Highlighting or choosing a different colour might help them look more like they're made of a different material than the armour.

Nice job with the model.

I have been looking for a template to paint these guys, forgeworld won't release a painting guide for them until they release the rules for the Fists.

I really like the way the tabard and the leather straps off the arms look but you are right the shoulder pads look to much like them. I used Agrax Earthshade over the whole thing maybe I should throw another coat of wash to try and darken them up. So red wouldn't work on the shoulder pads? That would be the easiest fix

I am not much of a painter and while I admit the red does stand out, I can't free hand a stripe down the helmet so its pretty much going to stay as is.

For my first attempt I am happy with how he looks so far.

I think they look okay white but I think they would look better if they weren't the same colour as the dangly bits.

So yeah, if it were me I would probably do something different with them, I think the red option would work well.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Decided to try something different as I have seen a lot of Cataphracti done like this, think it pulls the attention away from the helmet a bit.

Used Screaming skull as opposed to Ceramite White on the tassels, it is a little darker, but still thinking of doing the shoulders in red.
