Howdy fellow gamers. New CSM player here. I'm not a power gamer by any stretch nor am I a tournament player. I'm what you would call a beer and pretzels kind of gamer. I have made this list to game against a friend who is trying out his space marines. He hasn't decided what chapter so if you wanted to know I couldn't tell you.

Our points limit is 2005 as we always go over by 2 or 3 points whenever we play these games.

We are going to up it to 2500 after a few games to incorporate allies. When that happens I will add skull taker with 2 units of ten blood letters each and a daemon prince as a heavy support option making necessary cuts in my marines list to accommodate. That should be fun.
The only thing I'm pondering is the lack of fast attack. I didn't want to get the heldrake as that's all I see being played at my FLGS where I get my stuff.

Anyway, rip it apart. The gods would smile upon you for doing so.

Khorne lists are hard to do effectively due to the inherit issues assault armies have in 6th edition. Furthermore 'Zerkers and Blood letters can only really assault GEQ units and come out ahead. Personally I find that against MEQ it can really go either way.

To be honest it's better if you wrote a list with what you want so that we can try and give some tips from there.

Turn the chosen into aspiring champions.

Use one chosen as skull champs for kzerk so you have 20. Load up into LR and rhino.

Field only termi lord mark of khorne with termi squad even when you cant assault from deep striking. Just endure his shots. Hopefully you ds out of line of sight.

Keep 20 cultist in reserve to capture home objective later in the game.

If you still have points, try to get shooty units even regular csm to support your main hard hitting units. U have essentially 40 cc units not counting termi.

I would suggest splitting termi so one joined by khorne lord is lightning claws, and the other group is tzeench shooting. However you have and want 2 hellbrutes in your elite slot to be like rifledreads. The one from dv has multi melta, but you want lascanon or even autocannons. U can keep two hades autocannon on the arms of the forgefiend and upgrade the mouth to have plasma cannon. Even getting 8 havocs with autocannons (two groups of 5men) will help you shoot flyers and mc and light armor.

Make that dp winged, so it can vectorstrike other flyers. Give it a flame templete or psy power some how to wreck mobs.

U can stick straws into the hellbrute mm and call it a lascan or auto cannon. If lascan put those gargoyle heads on it. Drill holes into side of straw to make it auto cannon.

chainaxes are almost never a good investment. Zerkers are already 19 pts per model, making them 22 pts each for AP 4 just flat ain't worth it.

Daemonic posession on a transport is not a good idea. risking a loss of a model before the game even gets going is not something I'd consider worth it. (that being said, I'm against rhinos in the first place. Drop them all together... form a huge mob of zerkers and charge across the field with them.

Cultists are... in my mind... a hide in the back and hold this objective... and effectively disappear from combat. 150 pts worth of cultists in one unit is too much.

Not a fan of giant terminator groups, but if that's your thing I can't say you'd be wrong for taking them. I just happen to field 12 lascannons... so guess where they'd be shooting first?

from experience, the plasma cannon on the fiend isn't worth the 25 points. Leave the fiend in the back and rain hell from over 24" range.

What were you planning on putting in the land raider? you gave both of your zerker groups rhinos... and the terminator group is too large for the raider... Terminators are bulky, as such, they only fit 5 in a transport. Empty land raiders aren't worth the points.

If you are used to seeing drakes used at your usual hangout, why not take some anti-air? havocs with flakk missile launchers or a defense line with quad gun and small group of cultists? (I understand that this isn't for just random people, but what if your friend pops up with fliers?)

Last note. On your chaos lord. think about the Burning Brand of Skalathrax as well as the Axe of blind Fury. it's an absolutely devastating combination.

have you tried fauxzerkers?

They are regular csm with mark of khorne. They can take special weapons such as melta guns instead of 2 plasma pistols.

I think you can tell your opponent that the kzerkers are downgraded to csm with mark of khorne. The back story is that they are not yet lombotomized but they want to be kzerkers reall bad but they dont trust their doctors.

also, footslogging your troops is a bad idea when there be drakes flying around or vindicators with large blast templates. I would stick the fauxzerkers into rhinos so they can get to where they need to go and shoot on the turn they disembark. then they can shoot pistols and charge next turn.
