So I am building the burna bomber for the orks first because I just like how it looks as a model more then the others.
I have never really played anything like this before or against it. So can anyone give me some tips on how to use it to its max potential or what kind of beginner mistakes I should look out for?

Well your first mistake is using a burna-bomber . It is good at what is does, killing infantry, especially in cover, but Orks are good at that anyway. A Dakka-Jet on the other hand is much, much better.

As mentioned, everybody is in love with the Dakkajet, for the reasons mentioned above.

With the Burnabomber, aim for units that rely on cover saves, such as Eldar Rangers, Space Marine Scouts, etc. units that are usually ~36" away from boys mobs and not worth wasting shots on with units that don't ignore cover.

My regular Ork opponent often uses a Burnabomber, and he has much fun killing my stuff with it.

Yeah, my regular Ork opponent has fun with a burna bomber too. Tore some holes in the Eldar he was playing the other day!

Can I build it as a Burna bomber and call it a dakka jet? Dakka jet looks retardedly boring.

Burna bomber is obviously the coolest looking thing on the planet!

... er they're the same model with different weapons .... WYSIWYG might prove an issue if you have a bomb and rear gunner. Then again friendly environment should be fine

Magnets are your friend. A friendly game though it shouldn't matter.

The rear gunner is on the Blitza Bomma. The Burna has a top-turret, which could easily be said to be the extra twin-linked Supa Shoota. I'd leave it pointing forward though, to avoid accustations of MFA..

The bombs are a bit trickier, but you can just tell your opponent what the model is being, and see what he says.

I use mine as dakkajets sometimes, but always tell my opponent/ask his permission to proxy.

OK. I just think while the dakka jet is really good the burna bomber is a great second choice vs the bomber and Besides I think it looks way freaking cooler then the others by a really long ways.

Personally i love the look of the Blitza Bomma.

It's rules are fine for silly games, where you don't mind if a unit is a bit cruddy.

For serious play though, just no..

The Burna is still pretty good against Eldar, Guard , Orks, Tau etc. Not so much vs Marines, but yes it DOES look awesome

The Burna-bomma doesnt even hit anything for me. I took it thinking there was some special rule for missiles, but i couldnt find it so my limited supply of Str5 missiles or Str5 bombs (which i already have a crapton of Str5 or so, so why do i want it anyway?) always scattered way off target.
The cost puts me off more than anything else. Its WAY less viable than the Dakkajet, and costs ~60 more? wtf?

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

I've had great luck with my Burna Bomma! Moving, dropping a Burna Bomb and then launching x2 rokkits and shooting one of its guns at a completely different target than the one you just immolated is great! Yeah, its not a tank killer, but so what? If you need infantry burned (or burned out of cover)this plane will do it! It does get a little pricey, but its fun! And if you're not having fun in a game.....what're you doing? Haha
