I am thinking of starting up a Bolt Action list, probably a British infantry list. This is its first incarnation. I want to keep things as historical as possible and keep it infantry.
I will be basing the list on the 5 Seaforths so they are all veterans.
Lieutenant., 1 additional man
Infantry section: 10 men, 1 bren, 1 SMG
Infantry section: 10 men, 1 bren, 1 SMG
Infantry section: 10 men, 1 bren, 1 SMG

Light mortar
Medic
Piat team
6 Pounder

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

I do like the look of an all infantry lists. Still waiting on my last order from Warlord then I can play.

It looks like a pretty solid list and seems to have that 'historical' feel, and enemy lists that invest heavily in anti-tank will find those points poorly spent. My only comment- no Artillery Observer?

Hes free so I didn't bother including him. Do I have enough AT?

I went with AT grenades on my infantry sections. I am not sure what the TO&E would have been for a basic rifle section, but I would assume that they would have had some form of AT asset.
Besides my lobe Sherman, I have also gone with the PIAT team and 6pdr.

I like your list, I don't think it's overly unbalanced. There's enough of everything to handle most comparable lists.
I am really excited for what Bolt Action can be, simple rules, relatively low costs to get started, more chronological flexibility in lists than FoW and decent looking models. FoW is a great game too, I'm just not a fan of games in that scale.

I like the look of it. THat's a lot of vets if all those infantry squads are rated vets, but from my short time playing the game, veteran infantry can be nasty against somebody not prepared for them. The bonus LD alone is pretty awesome, not to mention being twice as hard to kill.

My main issue is that if someone decides to bring a lot of armour my 6 pounder and PIAT will be overwhelmed leaving me with hoping to get lucky on the armour superficial hit table. Given heavy preponderance of tanks in FoW games around here I think thats a likely scenario.
The entire army is veteran aside from the (free) artillery observer who is regular.

I only have the main rulebook currently to base my force off, but are players not limited to one type of MBT/ AFV?

Each platoon is limited to 1 (and an armoured car) but you can take multiple platoons of cheap infantry. You can get a German platoon for 120 points, its a hopeless platoon but thats not really the point .
You could fit in an Elefant or a pair of Tigers in a 1k point game, there is no way I'm killing them with a 6 pounder

I know you want an infantry heavy list, but a lack of mobility is a serious gap as most games require maneuver of some sort (and it's a great threat tactic).
How about skipping the MMG (saving 65 pts)...reducing each squad by 1 man (getting 52 pts back)...and buying a Reg Daimler? It will give you mobile AT (good versus light armor), recce, and give you back an MMG.

@Palindrome - Just read that after I posted. What about dropping the 6pdr and light mortar and upgrading to the 17pdr. Not sure on points off the top of my head.

I did consider the 17 pounder, I am thinking of dropping one of the rifle sections anyway so that will give me more points to play with.
I want to base the list on the standard rifle platoon Orbat; 3 sections, light mortar, medic and PIAT team. with the remainder being common support options. So I would prefer the 6 pounder to the 17 pounder as it was operated by the Royal Artillery anti tnak units but I don't have a problem in using a one if I start to see big cats.
I don't want to include vehicles at all and if I do it will be a Carrier.
Its proving strangely difficult to source the models for this. My plan was to support my local gaming shops but I went into the 2 closest to me today and neither had anything that I wanted, not even some FoW stuff I was after. I have 1 more to try tommorow and if not I will have to resort to the internet after all.

The Bolt Action ones, both shops that I went into had 5-10 boxes and a handful blisters of Warlord games stuff spread across their entire range. There wasn't any plastic Grenadiers either.

What particular models is what I meant to say? BUT, obviously you need all troops.
I received some jeeps in trade, just trying to add them into my force, but not sure what points to drop. I hate to loose any dismounted options.
I would say your probably better ordering right from Warlord.

I'll get them from Triple Helix, its cheaper. Its a shame though as I thought that the Bolt Action basic infantry boxes would have been popular.
