Just got a few finecast models, and I have a few questions.

Is there anything special I need to do when assembling them? I use Loctite glue, is theat going to be enought to hold them together, or do I need to pin them as well?

Also, if I want to attatch a plastic piece (like an arm or a head), will it stay put?

Thanks fellaaaaaaaaas

I don“t have that much experience with finecast yet but everything you said should work out without a problem.

I can't recall what brand of superglue I used on my finecast models...

But yea it should work fine, same with attaching plastic bits.

I just use super glue and it holds amazing. the glue is actually stronger than the resin I have found.
If you glue 2 pieces together you will find that the resin will break if you try and pull them apart so be super careful when gluing and posing models.
The main thing is to clean all the pieces in soapy water otherwise you will find that glue and especially paint will have a hard time going on the model.

Wash the model in warm water and dish soap for an hour or two, maybe 30 minutes since it's coated in a mould release powder, and that needs to come off before painting. It's not so much of a problem with gluing, but it can sometimes make the model fall apart. All you need is superglue after that, plastic cement won't get you anywhere!

You can also bend the parts by subjecting them to heat. I use to put them close to my 60 W daylight bulb for about 30-45 seconds and that does the job really good .
