Subject: Skimmers movement(s)? Dark Eldar specific questions...

Shade of Despair and Torment

Okay, I have Reavers, Raiders, and Venoms... I am confused by the (mini)rulebook on distances.
These can do a normal move 12" or is it 18"?
Is that the "combat " move?
I understand reavers can move, shoot, and bladevane (during assault?) 36".....
My raider has sails, i get 2d6" extra movement. Is that reg moving or anytime?
Help is appreciated......

Bladevanes are used during the turbo-boost move, which is done during the shooting phase instead of firing weapons.

Only during the movement phase.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Ok, thx.
So....
Combat speed - up to 6"
Cruising speed - more than 6" up to 12"
Flat out - more than 12" up to 18"
Right?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Two points of clarification:
Reavers are not vehicles. They're jetbikes, which follow totally different rules. In 6th edition, a vehicle can move twice during a turn. Once during the movement phase (combat or cruising speed), and once during the shooting phase (flat out).
So a Raider can move up to 12" in the movement phase (cruising speed), or 12" + 2d6" if it has enhanced aethersails. Then in the shooting phase it can move Flat Out, which is an additional move. For a regular vehicle that's up to an additonal 6"; for a Fast vehicle it's 12", and for a Fast Skimmer it's 18".
So, for example, a Rhino or Land Raider can move up to 18" total in a turn; Cruising speed in the movement phase, and up to an additional 6" in the shooting phase in place of shooting or popping smoke. A Raider can move the normal 12" Cruising speed in the movment phase (+2d6 with the sails), AND an ADDITIONAL 18" in the shooting phase.
Fast stuff moves FAST in this edition.

My understanding is this...
The Reaver jetbike counts as an Eldar version so they can make a free assault move as well. If you've equipped your Reavers with melta lances it's fairly easy to move up 12", pop a couple of melta lance shots (18" range) at an enemy tank then finally use the free assault move to jump back behind LOS blocking cover. I typically will place mine such that only the Reavers with melta lances are out in the open to negate any cover save for my opponent then finally use the free assault move to jump them back out of sight again.
