Hello there folks.... Mike B here with the Berks-
PA Gaming Club
http://berks-pa-gamingclub.blogspot.com
Saturday, April 13, 2013, we announce that we are hosting Berks Spring Assault 4! This is Warhammer
40K tournament played on 4 rounds at 1000 points. We have had a lot of success each year and we continue to grow (and learn).
We have modified our force organization chart this year, enforcing some simple composition to keep the playing field somewhat balanced. This is more of a Warhammer
40K Party with a tournament thrown into it. We created this event to be challenging to the veteran players, but welcoming to the newer players and also to those who just normally don't care much for tournaments as a whole.
We do have prizes and small trophies and such for those who are into it for the competition, and we also have several raffle prizes we hold via a basket raffle, so we can help offset the costs of the event and also to give more opportunities for our guests to win prizes. Raffle tickets are available for purchase only at the event.
Doors open at 9:00am, with game play to start by 10:00am. Lunch is included and will be catered on site. Between rounds 3 and 4 we will have cake & ice cream, and settle half of our raffles, so as to speed up closing time. A cash bar is also present on site.
Berks-
PA Gaming Club again brings you our featured event of the year, the 1000 point Warhammer
40K tournament and party. There will be some modifications to the event this year, especially after our wonderfully successful Berks Winter Blast fundraiser.
More Details to come, but the event is April 13th, 2013. Same venue as last year, the Riveredge Banquet Center.
Force Organization Chart will be modified as follows and includes all additional support units form allied detatchments.
HQ: 1-2 (all codexes), NO
HQ may have more than 200 points per
HQ position. Retinues attatched to an
HQ may have no more than 200 points total. Yes, that is 200 points per
HQ slot.
Troops: 2+ All units must be at 300 points or less. (Dedicated Transports do NOT count towards that limit, and also have a points limit of 300 points each)
Elite units: 0-2: Each unit has a maximum points value of 300 points.
Fast Attack: 0-2: Each unit has a maximum points value of 300 points.
Heavy Support: 0-2: Each unit has a maximum points value of 300 poitns.
Fortifications: 0-1 Maximum points value 150 points.
(These totals include any allied detatchments, so you may not have any more combined than 2 of each:
HQ, Fast Attacks, Elites, and Heavy Support Units).

More details to come, this is planning to be a 4-game venue as every other year. Scoring will be simplified again, more stuff we learned thanks to our winter event. Each round will be 90 minutes with a break between games.
Lunch will be provided and is included with the cost of your ticket to the event. We will feature our regular prize table as well as our wonderful donated raffle prizes, which is a huge hit for everyone.
Pre-registration will start immediately, and is $40, netting you a $10 savings., contact Michael Biancone at BianconeGlobal@comcast.net . Cost is $50 at the door and limited to 80 total players. Again, we will offer a $10 discount for Pre-Registration, so cost for Pre-Registration is $40. Pre-registration will end April 6, 2013.
Games will be 1000 points, played on a 4'x4' tables. (We call it Spring Assault for a reason folks...). Each game will be scored on a total of 20 battle points. Sportsmanship will be calculated separately and will still be included in your overall battle points this year. Sportsmanship will be 5 points per game, plus our player's favorite voting, which can net you 4 additional points.
Best Appearance will be a separate category, voted by the players in our Armies On Parade, and the top 3 winners will be offered additional prizes and trophies.
There will be a minor score for appearance that will also count towards your overall score as well. This score is minor and will be graded from 0-6 and will follow a flat scale and not be subject to judge voting. Armies do NOT need to be painted, but must be
WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) and must be modeled appropriately and complete. No headless or armless models please. NO proxies either. Models Do NOT need to be
GW, but must be a clearly identified to show what they represent. If you are not sure, contact me the head Tournament Organizer (Mike Biancone) and I will let you know. Any innappropriate Models will be removed from play.
You may also earn 2 Bonus Tournament Points by submitting your army list early from April 1st to April 6th, for judge review and approval. So long as your list you show up with matches the one we have on file when you arrive for pre-registration, you will receive 2 bonus points.
As more details come we will post information here and on the Berks-
PA Gaming Club Blog page:
