Here's a list I've been mulling over for the past few days and wanted to know everyone's thoughts:
HQ:
Libby, jump pack, blood lance, shield of sanguinius: 125

Troops:
Assault squad, drop pod, flamers: 200
Assault squad, drop pod, flamers: 200

Fast attack:
Baal, heavy bolters, TLAssc: 145
Baal, heavy bolters, TLAssc: 145
2x Land Speeders, Multi-melta, heavy flamer: 160

Elites:
Furioso, blood talons, multi melta, heavy flamer, drop pod: 170
Furioso, blood talons, multi melta, heavy flamer, drop pod: 170
Furioso, blood talons, multi melta, heavy flamer, drop pod: 170

Total: 1485

Pretty straight forward. Alpha strike with the furiosos. Hopefully kill some tanks or flame bunkered down guard or Xenos. Baals lay down ranged fire support while land speeders can start on the board or deep strike. Assault squads can either drop in or sit on objectives late game.

Thoughts?

Which squad is the libby with?

I've ran 3 dreads with my footwolves list before .... its a surprise for most people. With the meta 6th edition people have been favoring plasma over melta in some cases so that should help - really it depends on who your paired up against.

I like it - the furiosos are going to be a hell of a alpha strike and its alot more AV than plp are use to seeing lately. If they have alot of melta weapons they are going to TKO the dreads pretty quick and your low on troop choices.

But .... I like it.

If the squads go in drop pods? Neither. He'll hide behind the Baals and give them a cover save with SoS. All depends on who I'm playing and board position. If it's a kill point game, I may even just start him in reserve and walk him on.

I really might consider swapping Flamers for Plasma. Shouldn't be too hard to shift the points.

Local meta actually only has one other space marine player who runs melta, and in all honesty, at that point I'm just hoping my heavy flamers can whittle his numbers down a bit before the dreads take it it the face. As for low troop count, I do see it as a problem. But I figure I can combat squad down if holding objectives is really a factor and just hope and pray by that point (it's what I do most games anyway.)

drop pod dreadnoughts are always a brilliant surprise for the enemy!

i run 2 in my list with drop pods and it always knocks people off guard!

Not sure i understand the point of the lone jump pack libby. He's begging to be killed for 1 victory point if you try doing anything with him or is pointless if you just hide him in the back.

I figure he can jump around behind the Baals and give them a 5+ cover wherever they go. They'll need it since they'll be alone on their side of the board typically.

Solid list that will win more than it loses , especially if your local meta does contain Meltas
